Bra & Slip help

Does anyone know where I can get the bra and a mermaid slip for my wedding dress? They were suppose to be included in the price of my wedding dress (per the lady assisting me) but she no longer works there and I have no slip or bra. They told me I could buy them at the store but they want $80 for the bra and $80 for the slip...I just think it's a little pricey seeing as I will only be wearing them once....Does anyone know of a place I could get them for less? Thanks

Are you talking about a longline bra? You should be able to get them at Kohl's, Macy's or one of the other dept stores.

Or you could always ask your seamstress to have cups sewn in for you.

I got a long-line bra at Macy's when they were having a sale...  (My mom bought it though, so I don't know how much it cost; less than $80 though I'm pretty sure)

I'm actually renting my crinoline from my seamstress.  $20 for the day.  It's the perfect amount of poof needed for my dress.  I had purchased a crinoline from the store where I bought my dress (~$40 at Cincinnati Bridal & Formal) but it didn't look quite right.  My dress is a ballgown though.

Did the saleswoman give you anything in writing about what was included in the price of the dress?  Like on your receipt of deposit, does it say what's included?

I would suggest talking to someone that does alterations. My alterations lady is putting the cups in my dress, and basically told me that the longline bra I bought it pointless, would be uncomfortable and is unnecessary for what I wanted it to do (keep the girls at bay and smooth over my stomach).  She said the cups will help the girls and that the way most wedding dresses are made, you don't need any smoothing out because the dress (usually) has a lot of layers in that area (and sometimes boning too).

So....you may not need a bra.  As for a slip or crinoline, you could try to buy it used, or rent it from a seamstress (that's an awesome idea Beckmeister) or try to find it elsewhere.  Do you actually need it? I'm not wearing anything under my dress (as far as a slip or crinoline).
I tried on my dress with two different fullnesses of crinoline and honestly barely saw a difference with the fullness of my gown.
