what would you do. Have your reception wedding at a nice place but very expensive. Or having your reception wedding in a big place,waaay to cheap ,but in needs of a loooot of decorations, like lights,curtains ,and the florist needs to do a very nice job. In the other one the place itself is nice, so even an small centerpiece we look nice. . What would yo do?

It would depend on my budget. If it was going to break me or my family to have it at an expensive place then I would opt for a smaller (or cheaper) wedding venue. To be honest, a wedding isn't about extravagant decorations and venues it's a celebration of the couple. Wedding guest are not going to remember your centerpieces, the curtians or decorations.

But I would make my decision based on what I could afford and take in to consideration everything else I want for my wedding.  For me the photographer is the most important part of my wedding. In the end the photos are all I will have left and will pass those on down to my children.

I agree with the pp.  Maybe you should ask the decorator how much it would cost to decorate it? That would be my first question.  I would probably go cheap and deco it myself.  That way it is really yours.
