Reception site reviews...

Has anyone been to or hard anything about The Clock Tower in downtown Columbus or the New Albany Country Club? I'm trying to decide and could use any reviews you have.
Thanks!
Ashley

My FI works at the New Albany Country Club.  It's pricey but sooo worth it.  I've been there for many of his holiday and work parties over the last three years and have NEVER had a complaint.  The food is amazing and the atmosphere is beautiful.  Also the wait and kitchen staff are great.  And if the employees recieve the royal treatment I can only imagine what a paying customer would get.  If we weren't having our wedding n my hometown that is exactly where we would have it.

NACC is beautiful, but if you want to have an outdoor ceremony, they REQUIRE that you have a tent. Not my bag of chips. But the grounds are beautiful and the ball room upstairs is lovely. It holds maybe 150.

And I have never heard of the Clock Tower.... looks like I'm about to do some googleing.

I have to tell you, I had posted a comment about the Clock Tower and decided to delete it.  I would just google it, they have a very bad reputation.  So much so that they have threatened legal action against people who post bad reviews or voice their opinion online regarding their experiences at the Clock Tower!  There was even a website created called "theclocktowersuck.com" or something crazy like that.  It was created by someone who had their wedding reception there.  Seems the theme in all of the reviews is poor customer service and broken promises/breach of contract.  I personally would never have my reception at the Clock Tower, but that is just my opinon based on what I've heard and seen online.  I've never been inside, I've heard it's nice.  But I do work in the area and it's not in the best part of town and I would feel uncomfortable in that area after dark.  It's not really downtown, it's about 10 miles east.  Just make sure to do your research on ANY venue before booking.  HTH!

I contacted them months ago when I first started my search. I wasn't impressed with the turn around time for responses or the pricing they had. JMO

I don't know about the other, but when I was looking at venues I had an appointment with the Clock Tower. The lady blew me off entirely. The appointment was at 1:30pm - I had it in my calendar, I checked my email 1000x just to make sure, and I called her probably 15-20 times from 1:15 (just once when we got there, just to let her know) til 2 oclock (yes, we waited an entire half hour - no show). Sometimes she ignored my calls, too, because it'd only ring once. I never got an email or call from her after.

The venue itself... If you want to have outside pictures, it's a no, really. It's in an old parking lot that looks abandoned and has weeds growing up in it. Not like a foot tall or anything, but in between the cracks. I mean the inside (as we were peering through the freaking windows because NO ONE WAS THERE) looked pretty... but I was so effing p!ssed after that ordeal. Just a warning. And yeah, there is a website called clocktowersucks.com. I set up an appointment with them anyway after reading it and what I mentioned above was the result.

My fiance and I visited the Clock Tower a few months back. Its a nice economical place, but I'd prob go elsewhere if you could afford it. Its not in a good neighborhood and there really aren't many hotels around. When I showed up for my appointment 15 min early, the place was locked. I called and someone picked up and said the coordinator said my appt was an hour earlier and I didn't show so she went home. That was not true at all. I had printed off the email she had responded to me with the time. But the owner had a worker who lived close by drive over and open the building and let us in to check it out. We did meet with the owner later, and he was pretty alright but we weren't overly impressed.
