The Cedars Banquet Center

I'm considering holding my wedding reception at The Cedars in downtown St. Louis. Has anyone used them or been to receptions there? I'm having a hard time finding reviews online. Thanks for the help!

I've been there, but only for a huge banquet after a funeral and an auction with my law school.  

For the funeral, they did traditional Lebanese cuisine, which was amazingly delicious.  Service was really quick and efficient and everyone had a good time(well, as good of a time as you can at a funeral).

For the auction, it was cocktails, so no commentary on service except for the bar was a bit slow.  The coat check also "lost" my friend's coat that night and she had to leave in the freezing cold, but they called her the next morning when they found it- so they are pretty trustworthy I guess since they put in the extra effort to get the coat back to her.

I think it would be a fine place for a large reception- how many people are you planning on hosting?  Our law school function was 700 with cocktails and the funeral was 400+, so I think you'd need a pretty significant guest list even with the dance floor space to fill the room.

We're going to have around 300 and we've had a hard time finding places that are different that can hold that many people. Thanks for the info!

My brother had his reception there, with about 200 guests - they have air walls to make the room smaller if necessary. I don't remember what the menu was, but I do remember that the food was delicious, and unlike some other venues, the drinks weren't watered down.

It is awesome, you would not be disappointed. It is my church so I have been to tons of events there! The food was good and everything is smooth.
