Inexpensive flowers?

So we're not having a wedding party, and it will just be us and my niece and nephew (flower girl and ring bearer).  I don't need the big poofy bouquet.  Anybody know of any good, inexpensive florists around here?  Someone at work knows someone that went to a place where she picked out the flowers herself and it was really cheap?  Does that  make any sense?

    Based on my own research, I would suggest $100 Bouquet company, Les Bouquets, or MarryMe Flowers. I decided to go with the Crimson Petal. She thinks she can stay within my budget and our personalities just really clicked.

    Schnucks Focus on Design was the most reasonable florist I found.  If you're thinking about someone who does it out of their home, make sure they are a professional and that they're insured as such- otherwise if they don't come through you could be without recourse.

    On another board, I saw someone recommending buying my own fresh flowers at a farmer's market and making my own bouquet (or finding someone who can).  Anybody have experience with this?

    <div>I went to a friend's wedding and they did this.  How early is your wedding?  Hers was a 4pm wedding and they were still pressed for time.  If you're only thinking your bouquet, your flower girl's bouquet, moms' corsages, bouts for your groom, RB, and the dads, you're still looking at putting together 8 pieces.  Not including things for program people, or ushers, anything like that.  Or if you want arrangements, flowered centerpieces, etc.  </div><div>
    For me, the difference between ordering the flowers from Costco, and doing them myself or ordering them was $50 (I had mine, 7 attendants, flower girl, 3 moms, a grandma, H, 7 groomsmen, 2 ushers, 2 program attendants, and greenery arrangements on the stage).  For me, $50 was worth not having to do it myself and have everything magically delivered to my hotel room.</div>

    I used Melinda from Les Bouquets for y wedding flowers. She was really reasonable and easy to work with. I looked into some of the other frequently used florists and she ways much cheaper and i absolutely LOVED my flowers.

    Carols Corner down off Midland Blvd, a few of my friends have used her and thier flower looked great I have an apt next week i will let you know how is goes.

    We bought flowers wholesale and put them together ourselves (actually my mom, aunt, my bridesmaids, and myself).  We did everything the day before the wedding.  As long as you keep everything hydrated and in a cool place you can do them the day before.  If you are just making a bouquet for yourself and a bout for your FI then that would be super easy.  You can buy toss petals for the FG at most local groceries (check the fridge at Schnucks, they usually have bags of rose petals).  I have more info in my Planning Bio, but if you decide to go this route I think it would be less expensive to get your flowers locally rather than order them online.

    Walter Knoll's shop on Lesalle st. in the city sells the flowers at amazing prices!  You have to DIY them, but the prices per stem/bud is great!

    Not sure where you are, but I am using Lasting Impressions Florist in Fairview Heights, IL.  She will deliver to STL city. Not sure what the number is but you can google it.

    If you would like to take the time to make your own bouquet, try Sam's Club or Cosco online! Both sell flowers in bulk and they delivery time is very good.

    I used Sam's Club.  The flowers were gorgeous, lasted 2 weeks after and were reasonably priced.
