HELP FIND ME A VENUE! :)

Hey ladies!  I'm on a TIGHT budget for my wedding and would like to find a venue. But I have some restrictions! Any ideas/information would be greatly appreciated! THANKS!

-September 1, 2012 Date
-CHEAP but not "CHEAP LOOKING"
-Package including tables, chairs, linens, place settings, etc.
-Wedding and Reception at same location
-Would like an outdoor wedding, but able to move inside if bad weather
-Somewhere preferably away from downtown/campus area due to OSU football game at noon the day
-Able to bring your own alcohol (I work for Anheuser-Busch so that would cut major costs for me!)
-Able to accomodate 175 guests

You might want to try Tall Timbers. I haven't actually been there but I've seen some things about it on these boards & I think it meets all your requirements.
You could also look into Bent Tree Golf Club. They meet a bunch of your requirements, though I don't think they'll let you bring your own alcohol...

Definitely try looking down a few posts on this page, there was a HUGE thread from yesterday with tons of people's favorite venues - price ranges, why people loved them so much, etc. I'm sure that would help you..

Smith Bros allows you to bring your own alcohol. It's downtown, but there's at least parking. Tall Timbers is nice, I've been to a wedding there. And, the Anthenaum is pretty, also downtown, but, you can byob.

La Scala in Dublin is not exactly what you're looking for from the outdoor aspect but it is really nice for the price, even with alcohol included.  Also, you should look at the North Bank Pavillion.  It is hard to get because it is through the city and is on a first-come first-serve basis but is beautiful and can be tented off to fit that guest count.  The only problem is that you have to rent everything yourself.  Sorry it isn't exactly what you wanted but those are pretty good places from the cost aspect.

Clintonville Women's Club. They are off the radar. Very very accommadating, the coordinator Kristin is awesome. Plus, you get to bring in your own alcohol. Outside area available, or it literally sits next to the Park of Roses. Everything is included, no minimums and no rental fee. :)

i second the clintonville women's club/park of roses
i would suggest checking out local golf courses (like tall timbers/bent tree mentioned above).
arlington swim and racquet club maybe.

I am not 100% sure of this, but I think Tall Timbers is owned by a church and doesn't allow booze........

Thanks for the help everyone! Ive looked into some of the suggestions and they all look great! We're not getting married until next year, but I know a lot of places fill quickly. Especially since we will be getting married on Labor Day Weekend!

Clintonville Women's Club books over a year out, just FYI. If you have your heart set on a certain date I would plan accordingly.

Also, Swim and Racquet Club is a great option too. $500 rental but you get to bring in your own food AND alcohol. I would call them sooner than later because  it's still pool season that time of year and their members book a lot of parties on the weekends.

I third the Clintonville Park of Roses. It is beautiful and reasonably priced.  If we were unable to get our current location in my hometown that was our second choice.

The Olde Gahanna Sanctuary is affordable, nice for both indoor and outdoor wedding (they have a nice yard area outside, and the building looks nice from outside as well). They have almost no rules (regarding catering, alcohol, deocrations, etc.).  They have tables and chairs, and if you get a caterer that can provide bar set-up and free linens you're all set. We used Laura's Catering (lauras-catering.com) and black, white or ivory linens come free, and her bar set up is SUPER cheap and she brings all the tubs (covered in black linen to look nice), ice, pourers, cups, napkins, mixers, and garnishments for your bar. We got the alcohol through a bartender friend who got discounted prices from the liquor store - ended up being super affordable. I do believe she actually just got the contract to be the exclusive caterer for wedding at Quest Center on Polaris Parkway (near hotels and shopping too for your guests) so you may want to check that out.

Through planning I found that alcohol/ bartending and catering minimums at venues were the biggest budget hogs, and finding ways to cut costs there helped the most in cutting our budget.

I just went and looked at Tall Timbers. Definitely can work with any budget. There is outside and inside space and its BYOB which will cut costs! They provide tables, chairs, linens, and catering. I would definitely recommend checking it out. I think the lady I met with was name nannette and she was very friendly and helpful!

We are getting married at Royal American Links, which is a sister venue to Bent Tree that is also nice!  They fulfill all your requirements except for allowing your own alcohol.  Good luck and let me know if you have any questions!

We were married at Bent Tree Golf Club this past summer and it was wonderful!  We were married outside on the grounds, held the cocktail hour on their patio and dinner amd dancing in the banquet room.  Although their all-inclusive packages include much of what you are hoping for, they do not allow you to bring in your own alcohol, and I think 175 will be tight in that space.  We had about 150, and I think any more than that would be too much.  Everyone at BT was great, we would highly recommend you still check it out.  I have reviews, info, and pictures in my bios (link in siggy), good luck! :)
