I am a student at the moment, finishing in June 2013, 2 months away from my wedding. My fiance wants to finance the whole ceremony but I feel it is unfair and too much on him. Now he wants to postpone the honeymoon until we have saved enough. Will it still feel the same if we go for honeymoon months after the wedding??

    I feel that postponing your honeymoon for a while is perfectly acceptable. As a matter of fact, instead of taking it ASAP-you could always wait until your 1 year anniversary and make it feel all the more special!

    But good luck in what ever it is you decide to do!

    I think its perfectly fine to postpone the honeymoon. If you still want some special time, see about a low cost inn or bed and breakfast for a over night so you still get that special time alone. This way also you can drop the hint that your having a later date honeymoon and people can get you gift cards/money for where your going instead of  the 13th toaster or waffle maker. :D

    you said "finance". I really hope that isn't lingo for go into debt to afford the wedding. Take a one nighter the night of and live it up, then when the time is right go on the honeymoon.

    We will be waiting about 6 months probably. My FI gets two weeks of vacation a year and they have to be spaced out, so if we wanted to go right after the wedding he would get no time off before the wedding and it would still have to be short. We plan on him taking a week around the wedding (a few days before and then a few after too) and then his next vacation will be our honeymoon.

    We're postponing ours too - we want to have the honeymoon we want, so we'll wait until we can afford it. Our wedding being in August too doesn't exactly make me want to go on a vacation (since it's like the one nice month in Alberta)!

    I think that you'll have fun being able to look forward to your honeymoon without having the stress of an upcoming wedding; it will still be romantic!

    I am pretty sure we are postponing ours too. I want to wait till its the right time since we are going to Jamica I have heard that Aug isn't the best time to go. I always wanted to do the leave the day after the wedding thing but I think it will still be just as special <3
