Have you looked into the conservatory on Historic Main Street.

Are you wanting something different besides a church? I've heard of people having their ceremonies and receptions at the Foundry near Main Street. I went to a wedding there and really liked it. There are a few event spaces in New Town too (they have a really contemporary looking church, city hall, and an event tent). This year August had absolutely gorgeous weather every weekend so it might work out the same way next year if you really wanted to do something outdoors.

The Foundry Art Centre would be a good venue to use.  The Conservatory will be too small, we're having our wedding there and it maxes out at 100.  Good luck!

I'm having my ceremony and reception at the Foundry.  Go down there to check it out, especially on a Saturday afternoon - They will probably be setting up for a wedding and you can see how it might look for yours.  Don't wait too long to book it though - they fill up fast.  Check out their website too: http://www.foundryartcentre.org

The Conservatory only holds up to 100 people... and thats cramped.  I agree with the Foundry.

I am having my reception at The Foundry and couldn't be happier! It holds up to 350-400! Plus, with the art around and the fabric/lights already hung, you won't have much decorating to do! BOOK NOW! I booked in July for Oct 2010 and was going to have to push it back except a couple backed out!
