I know that a few others have talked about Clarice's Bridal, but I was just there thursday and they were absolutly AWSOME! The girl helping me ( younger with an accent) was the nicest person I have worked with. Not too mention I think I found my dress!!!!  :)

If you don't mind a bit of a drive, I highly recommend Margo's, in Union. Rachel and Margo are fabulous and not pushy at all. That is where I ended up getting my dress from. They are willing to work with budget and I loved the small town feel of the shop. I also went to A Bride to Be, Robin's Bridal (good prices, kinda pushy), Wedding Shoppe (in Troy), David's Bridal (don't do it!!!!!), Ultimate Bride (kinda snooty), and White Traditions (in Cottleville). White Traditions had some really unique and up to date dresses, but they were fairly expensive. Good luck on your search!

I'll go ahead and second the suggestion of visiting Margo's in Union if you don't mind driving out there. If you don't mind driving a bit further to Sullivan there's a small bridal shop on Main Street in the middle of town called Two Hearts Bridal and it's a cute, quaint little store. Now.. I've only been shopping for bridesmaids dresses there but there's a whole wall of wedding gowns and a rack and there's a lot of vintage stuff there now since that seems to be "in".And Christy, the owner is extremely nice, very personable and she's honest about how the dress looks on you. She also does rental tux's through Jim's Tux's(I think that's the name :S or something close) all at very reasonable prices in this crappy recession time. She's got magazines upon magazines for bridal party gifts, veils, shoes, reception pieces like toasting flutes, you name it she's probably got a magazine with it lol. She also does invitations. So it's like all in one really for the paperwork, gifts and dresses lol I love that shop. I'm getting my MOH dress for my friends wedding there :] Good luck with your search!

Another late poster...I bought my wedding dress for $199 at Formally Yours in the shopping center at Laclede Station Road and Watson - they have moved since then - I think downtown - here is their number - (314) 918-8200We also got all of our BM dresses there.4 years later my Best Friend bought her dress there too.  It was a $1,000 dress and she got it for $400.  We also got the BM dresses there. The ladies were all very nice and the ladies that did alterations were great too!
