tipping vendors

Hi Girls~ Did you or do you plan on tipping your vendors? I know the caterer adds gratuity, but I'm not sure what to do about the photographer & DJ. And, are you giving them a certain percentage or just a certain dollar amount? Will you tip them the night of the wedding or send it later? Thanks in advance!

We tipped our officiant, the manager of the venue, and the delivery people for cake and flowers. We did not tip the DJ or the photographer because they were people who owned their own businesses, and as a general rule, that is how it is done. To tip the photog who owns their own business, generally you purchase prints from them because they have a profit margin built in.
