Christian Churches

Hi there! Choosing a ceremony location for my Oct. 16th, 2010 wedding has been a bit challenging. I was raised Catholic, but my fiance is Christian. Instead of having him baptized, we were just going to proceed with a short Christian ceremony. I have also considered places such as The Jewel Box, but the strict 1.5 hour time frame is too nerve-wracking. So short story long (ha!), we were looking for Christian churches in the St. Louis metro area/Metro East. We are having our reception in Edwardsville, Ill. so we'd like to stay somewhat close. Phew! That was probably longer than it needed to be! Thanks!

I am not sure if you still wanted to get married Catholic but if you did your fiance does not have to get baptised.  I am Catholic and my fiance is not and he does not have to be baptised, confirmed or anything.   We do have to have a couple sessions with the Deacon and a weekend retreat but everyone getting married Catholic has to do that.

We were married at First Christian Church of Belleville on the tenth.  It was a very nice ceremony and the church is very friendly.  You also don't have to be a member. If you are looking for someone to do a wedding outside of a church, we used an ordained minister.  He isn't nearly as formal and stiff, he is as religious or non religious as you want to be and he will marry you wherever you want to be married.  (like First Christian Church, for example LoL)  If you are interested in him, please let me know and I'll get you his number.  His name is Roger Hartmann.

Do you know how many people First Christian Church can hold?
