RECEPTION VENUE HELP!

I am debating between having my wedding at the Missouri Athletic Club and the Missouri History Museum. Has anyone had experience with either of these places and can give me some advice?  I really like the MAC, but I heard the rooms were not very nice.  They were full when I visited so I didn't get a chance to check out the rooms myself.  Also, not a big fan of the stale smoke smell I noticed... However, it was absolutely gorgeous! Now, I need help deciding....

    Hi! Have you check out Private Event Spaces? They have a list of great unique venues if you are looking to be in the downtown area!

    I really like the MAC and I think they take care of pretty much everything for you.  From parking to decorating, there will be someone to supervise your site.

    I think the MO History Museum is a gorgeous venue- but when I checked they only gave x number of chairs.  I was considering doing my wedding ceremony and reception there, and I was going to have to rent another set of chairs and tables and linens and lighting and decor.  That was too much for what I had in mind to do on my wedding day, and I didn't have a DOC, so that was out for me.

    I haven't been to a wedding at the Missouri History Museum, but my sister has.  when I started looking for a place to have my wedding, I considered it, but my sister talked me out of it.  She said it was beautiful, but it was a little bit small.  They even had to get rid of some people's tables after dinner because they couldn't fit the dance floor it with all the table.  There were other things as well, but I can't remember.  On the flip side though, she did say it was one of the most fun weddings she went to!
