Reception Venues like the Club Room?

My fiance and I love the Club Room at the Schlafly Tap Room, but it's too small for our wedding. (Max. 150 and we're likely to have 150-175 AND we want room for a dance floor.) Does anyone know of a space like the Club Room that's slightly larger? I.e. a simple space with big windows, a balcony, a bar, ideally in the heart of downtown STL? Thanks! Clara

    Hey Clara!

    I, too, really like the Club Room at Schlafly.  I am going to have about 150 people and a dance floor.  Is there not enough room to have a dance floor with 150 people?  I haven't had a chance to talk with the people there yet.

    To answer your question... Try checking out Windows On/Off Washington.  I went to a wedding at WoffW and they had an outdoor balcony, large windows, etc. and is similar to the Club Room.  Hope this helps!

    Thanks so much! I contacted Kate Burrus at Schlafly, and she said 150 was the absolute max, even without a dance floor, unfortunately. Hope you'll find something that works for you!

    You could try contacting the different hotels that are located downtown.  I know that Millenium and Drury Plaza both have ballrooms that are lined with larged windows that show the arch and riverfront.  I would imagine most of the downtown hotels have this feature in their ballrooms since they are right there.

    Point of View with Patty Long Catering has great views of downtown, big windows, a great bar, and can easily accomodate 150 plus a dance floor.  I don't think they have a balcony, though.  I had my wedding and reception at the 9th Street Abbey, so I have wonderful things to say about Patty Long Catering (the Abbey has a great outdoor space, but the whole venue has such a different feel from what you're probably looking for), but I don't know much about Point of View.  Good Luck!
