I'm getting married this Sunday at BOMA. Though I don't post on here very often, I do on occasion (I'm also a paid vendor, as a disclaimer!), so I wanted to do a review of some of the people and places I've patronized to make my really fun and non-traditional wedding a reality (almost).
One thing I really splurged on was handmade Hair accessories. I got a veil (ceremony only), a fascinator ( to be worn all day in the back of hair), and a headband (reception only), not to mention custom made fascinators for all the wedding party:
A+++: Custom feather fascinators from "beevintagehoney" on etsy and she is awesome. She has prices far below most custom hair accessory crafters.
A: I also bought from "originalsbylynette" on etsy- a really high-end looking comb with enamel flowers and a small ivory feather. Just beautiful, not inexpensive though.
B+: I purchased my veil from fascinatingcreations on etsy. It's a tea-dipped fluffy birdcage with a small poof on top. Incredibly cute and also affordable. She was really nice to work with, but beware the most of her creations are ones that you have to assemble. I had to send back my first purchase and was really confused and stunned that anyone would want to purchase netting and tulle and then just get instructions. Can't you go to the fabric store for that?
A+: feathersandfrills (etsy) made my hand beaded headband. This was the most pricey and fully worth it. So exquisite and gorgeous- it WILL make the pictures!
Hats for the guys was the choice for the groomsmen.
B: Hat and Sole in Bexley. My fiance would probably say they were an "A" because he's not in tune to customer service since he's WAY too nice, but the store was unhelpful and annoyed that we wanted to even touch the hats. I mean, we were buying 5 hats that ranged from $40-$75, I think any customer warrants service, but especially if you're dropping that much. The place has a great selection/variety of hats of all styles and sizes. They are the hat authority in the entire Columbus area in my opinion.
