Alterations

Does anyone know of a place that can do alterations for wedding dresses? I got my dress from Davids Bridal, but the cost of alterations would be more than half the cost of my dress, so I'm comparing prices.

    I'll have to ask my mom because she knows a great seamstress in the area.  But it's good you are pricing other places, because I have heard nothing but horror stories about DB alterations department--expensive and shoddy work.

    I asked this same question; some Knotties led me to Sandy's Alterations, on South Hampton.  I just took mine in this week.  They are Italian women and were very nice.  I only need to have my gown shortened, and she said it would be about $60-$70; my skirt is ballgown style with several layers of tulle.  Don't know how the work is going to be but I feel pretty confident.

    I have had several bridesmaid dresses altered by Sandy and she can work some miracles.  I plan on having her do my wedding dress come fall.
