Airbrush Makeup? on a Budget?

Any suggestions for airbrush makeup artist....I am around the South St. Louis area and would prefer someone that would come to me on the wedding day, unless their salon isn't to far away. Suggestions???/

What kind of price are you looking for?  Are you wanting all of your bridal party, mom's, etc. to get their makeup done as well?  The reason I ask is because alot of places won't come to you unless you have X number of people getting services.  We used Mane Attraction in Collinsville.  They do travel to you and they did a great job for everyone on our wedding day.  We ended up going to them (huge crazy mess, other hairdresser backed out, we had to find someone with three days notice, thank GOODNESS I had booked makeup with Mane Attraction LoL) but originally they were going to come to us.  They average about $50 per service and the bride is free after you book so many.  Our hair was perfect, HELD which was super important and our makeup stayed all night as well.  Highly recommend these ladies. :-)

Thanks...I have no idea what to expect to pay for that and I already knew they did a good job, I propably will go with them . I take it you didnt get to do a trial run, but do you know if they offer that service.  I saw them at teh wedding show and was happy with them I was just seeign if anyone else knew of anybody?  How many people did they send you? One for each bridesmaid ect? How much time did you allow yourself for hair and makeup with them?  Thanks!

We ended up going there because originally we weren't using them for hair.  When my hairdresser bailed last minute, Mane Attraction got us all in with just a few days notice and an already full schedule.  We were there for a total of about four hours, but there was some down time in there.  I believe that they send two people to you if you are doing hair and makeup, depending on how many people you have.  They were very good about letting me know exactly how much time they would need for makeup when I was originally booking them for just that service.  In the four hours that we were there in the salon, there were every bit of 25-30 people there (at various times of course, they didn't book everyone at once LoL) and they got ALL of us out by a little bit after noon.  I would say give them about 45 minutes per person if you are doing makeup and updos.  They set your hair, then set someone else, then come back and actually style your hair, etc.  They were fabulous!  I know that they offer trial runs, and I think that they are nearly the same price as the day of.  The way it was put to me by another company was that even though it is just a trial run for you, it is an appointment for them.  They charge you what they would charge any other client that would be sitting in their chair taking that appointment.  They do have a website if you wanted to check out their services and approximate prices, etc.  It is maneattraction.com  Good luck on your day!

One other thing.  I would not recommend Laurens Makeup Art that is advertised here on the website.  I originally tried to book her.  She was impossible to get ahold of for starters and then when I did finally get ahold of her she wanted to charge me $75 for travel.  On her website it says St Louis and vicinity (or something like that, I forget the exact terminology) has no travel charge.  I live in Dupo IL.  It is literally less than ten miles from downtown, and she wanted to charge me a $75 fee.  When I pointed out to her that Dupo was definitely vicinity, she offered to drop it to $50.  7 bucks a mile for travel, huh?  That is steep by any standard.  LoL  Just a warning.

We are using Mane Attraction also for both hair and makeup, when you posted "airbrush makeup" they came to mind first thing before I read this post.  I havent decided yet between regular or airbrush.

I am using Holly Speakes... she travels, does hair & make-up (traditional or airbrush) AND she is just doing me & one other person (she doesn't have a limit on people or money).  Just do a google search of her name and her website will come up.

With airbrush be prepared.  They told us up front that it will look kind of heavy but that it photographs better that way.  I don't wear makeup, so when I saw my eyes I about died!  It looked SOOO heavy to me.  However, I think it photographed very well.  One of these days I'll get around to uploading my pictures on here.  LoL  Hopefully I will have them by this weekend.

I used Holly Speakes and she's great. She's pretty popular and books up fast so you might want to check her out. Here's her website.  From reading about pp's airbrush makeup I think Holly uses a different kind of airbrush foundation- hers is lighter than a regular cream foundation.  I had a trial run with the airbrush and you couldn't even tell I was wearing any foundation.  In the end I used the regular foundation on my wedding day only because I have super oily skin and I didn't like the airbrush as well on me.  You can expect to pay about $75 for airbrush MU thru Holly.

Try Christina Passanise with Christina Studios- she came and did my airbrush makeup and it was awesome! Contrary to what people may say, the brand she uses is waterproof and lasts forever but, is really natural looking. I hate heavy makeup and I was very comfortable with it. Her website is www.cstudiostl.com and she doesn't charge extra fees to travel to you. I think the airbrush makeup was $65... Good Luck!
