Budget Friendly Bridal Salons

I'm a very budget-conscious bride, and I'm stuck wondering-- Is David's Bridal my only choice for a cheaper gown?  (Under $500-$600)

Can anyone tell me if there are salons around St. Louis with Gowns that are under this price range?

I don't live in St Louis so I'm not sure on their exact stores, but I do know that many stores will have a sale section that has discontinued samples and such. Many of them try to not show you that section, but if you're persistent, they will. Also, if you have time before your wedding, watch for sales. Mine's an Alfred Angelo - their dresses are reasonably priced and the place where I bought mine often has $100-$300 off their gowns

What Davids Bridal for their $99 gown sale.... they seem to have that a few times a year. Other than that, I don't really know.

Most definately!! I went to three stores while shopping for my dress and I only looked at dresses that were $600 and under.  I went to David's in Sunset Hills first, I hated their selection, next I happened into LaMerite on Lindbergh (in St. Ann) when I was booking my reception, I didn't have an appointment with them but they didn't mind at all... they were super friendly and not the typical snoody dress shop!  They had a large selection of clearance dresses as well as new ones.  I also went to the Bridal Shoppe in Festus, they too have a ton of dresses in your price range.  I ended up buying a dress in Festus that I fell in love with at LaMerite... I just went with the Bridal Shoppe b/c it is closer to my house and has full service alterations.  I also found several dresses on-line that I liked, so I called a few stores to see if they A.) carried the dress and B.) the price... most places in the STL area will give you this info over the phone, so you don't waste your time shopping somewhere that is over priced.

Another option is to find something you love in a salon and then try to find it online.  There are always a ton of brand new dresses for sale on Ebay, for example.  Some people have too much extra money (what I wouldn't give!! LoL) and buy three dresses before they decide on one, for example, and then want to get rid of the extras at a huge discount off the original price.  If you are OK with buying used, this is also a good option.  Professional cleaners are fabulous these days and get alot of these dresses back to looking brand new.  You would be the only one that would ever need to know it wasn't.  :-)  Good luck in your search!

Have you looked into a Bride to Be?  They are off of Telegraph I paid $1000 for my gown, slip, tiera, and veil.  Also I have heard good things about Robins Bridal. Hope that helps!

I would recommend looking at Karen's Wedding Boutique & Clarice's Bridal.

I agree with Jeslyn97, The Bridal Shoppe in Festus is an excellent place to get your dress from. I've been there I don't know how many times trying to decide on a dress for my wedding and they have excellent customer service there. If you request anyone to help you, I highly recommend Jennifer, she's awesome! Also, if you find a dress at another shop that you like, if you talk to the Bridal Shop, they may be able to get a price for you and order it in there! Here's their phone number and email address if you need it: 636-937-8464 and  Write an email thebridalshop@sbcglobal.net . Terrie can also help you if you have any questions!

Also consider looking at bridesmaid gowns... a lot of the high end designers make more formal BM gowns for less than $500. Most of them you wouldn't even know they weren't "bridal" gowns unless someone told you.

I'm going to second Clarice's...This is my second marriage, and both my dresses have been from there.  This one was under $400 and is beautiful.  They are great too

I'm not sure if the sale is still going on, but I got the Maggie Sottero dress that I am absolutely in love with for...*drum roll*....$200 off the rack at Your Special Day in Fairview Heights, IL.

Clarice's is perfect.  I know 3 brides who got their dresses from there for 400-500. Mine was a little more, but I already had the shoes I wanted so I could spend a little extra. Plus the Customer service is outstanding.
Which did you like better? "Jedi" or "The Empire Strikes Back"? "Empire". Blasphemy. "Empire" had the better ending. I mean, Luke gets his hand cut off, finds out Vader's his father, Han gets frozen and taken away by Boba Fett. It ends on such a down note. I mean, that's what life is, a series of down endings. All "Jedi" had was a bunch of Muppets.
