Photo Locations

Hi All!
I was needing a place to get out engagement photos taken that is NOT Forest Park.

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

Downtown, the City Park, the Landing, the Riverfront, the Arch...there are a lot of options down there.

MO Botanical Gardens, or their Shaw Nature Reserve in Franklin County....beautiful

A location that is meaningful to you?!?!  A favorite place, a park, a family members' land, the stadium, downtown of your town, your home

Where are you in St. Louis?  If you're in West County, or willing to drive, the Butterfly House has some amazing locations.

In St. Charles, you can go down by the waterfront and I've seen pictures there turn out really well.

In South City I'd go to Tower Grove- they have some cool rock formations in one area of the park that are pretty and then I'd do the carousel for others, maybe some in a gazebo, etc.

If you want more urban looking pictures, we had some of our wedding pics done in Roberts Plaza at 10th and St. Charles downtown and they ended up being fun.  There are a couple of fountains and water fixtures, stairs, balconies, level steps- lots can be done photography wise there.

You could try Bee Tree Park in South County.  There are some great places to get pictures there.

We did ours at Tower Grove Park and they turned out well.  It is also where we got engaged.

Are you wanting to avoid a park entirely?  We did part of our engagement shoot at the Flamingo Bowl (I bowled in a maxi dress.  Not my best game, but the most fun ever).  The rest of the shoot was at a nondescript downtown location against a white wall with some abandoned railroad tracks to really attain that gritty urban feel, which is hilarious because we both grew up in west county (but we live in the city now, so we can officially consider ourselves gritty and urban :)  We also thought about Schlafly Bottleworks (first date, and the brewery itself would make for great pictures).  Ask your photographer for suggestion.  Maybe he/she has been waiting for a couple willing to think outside the park/box.
