The Thaxton or the st louis zoo

I am having my ceremony at the jewel box in forest park and i am considering the thaxton and the zoo for my ceremony, does anyone have any information on either of those places?

    If you mean you're considering Thaxton or the zoo for your reception...I had a WONDERFUL experience with my reception at the zoo! I don't know anything about Thaxton to compare, but zoo staff were wonderful and timely in planning, great on the day of, lots of compliments on the food, cake is included. We were also able to take our pictures there and had a great time. I would def recommend the zoo!

    The zoo would really be wonderful!  And, everything would be there in Forest Park.  But, I would go visit both in person and ask for references before making a decision.

    My best friend was going to get married at The Thaxton- it was nice because you could do everything in one place and at least a year ago, they were VERY reasonably priced, especially for the area of town.  I went with her to look at it- it was BEAUTIFUL.

    I think what this one comes down to is what kind of wedding you want.  At the zoo, I feel like no matter what your theme/ decor, it is going to be more casual.  At Thaxton, I think you can make it a little more elegant and formal if you wanted to.

    I work at the Zoo. They can dress it up to be very nice with linens, lighting, etc. And, I always hear that the food is delicious!

    I had a reunion event at the Thaxton and they were incredibly nice, accommodating, and flexible.  (and reasonably-priced, but we were a nonprofit group)  It's a really neat and unique space, I'd definitely support them again! 

    I always love the zoo, just don't know what they are like for events :)
