Kiener Plaza Ceremony

Hello STL Brides!

I am wondering if any of you have had/having/been to a wedding ceremony at Kiener Plaza?  We are St. Louis natives and saw a picture online and fell in love with the look of a ceremony at this site.

What I am worried about are costs adding up.  There is the permit for the space, have to rent a toilet, chairs, sound, pastor, get decoration and whatever else we need for the ceremony.  I am on a relatively modest budget (well I didn't think so, then my friend dropped 50 grand on a wedding!), and I am just wondering if anyone has any advise for me!

Also, FI and are not very religious and neither of us are very religious, nor do we have a pastor, did anyone seek someone out independently and have good recommendations?

Any information is greatly appreciated!  Thank you ladies!

I work right next to Kiener.  While I've never been to a wedding there, there are a few items to note.  There is a waterfall within the plaza that is only turned on during certain parts of the year.  Without the waterfall, it's pretty boring (and dirty).  Also, I hate to say this because I love working downtown, but a lot of the homeless live, hang-out, etc. in Kiener Plaza.  Also, some frequently bathe in the water as well.  I'm not sure if you will be able to restrict the area, but just a few things to be aware of.  I also think that it is kind of dirty looking, but that's me.  With saying all of that, I think it could be a nice venue, it just might take some work and you might have some unexpected attendees/onlookers.

I considered Kiener Plaza, but, like you, was worried about all the extras and fees. So I went with the Music Stand at Tower Grove Park, which is really pretty and really easy--it comes with benches.

I would ask them, before booking, if they know if any contruction that will be going on by the end of next year. Kiener is set to be a part of the arch grounds renovation.
