Need Suggestions ASAP

So I sent out seating arrangements to the reception venue today...only to find out that the tables can seat maximum 11 chairs (we were under the impression they could fit 10-12)

So they told me I would have to move people...well if I could have moved them, I would have. They are all at one table for a reason (all family, all from work, etc.) and I would feel terrible making them the only ones at a table with people they don't know while everyone else gets to sit together. 

I've also already had our seating chart made and printed...Now what?

Well, it seems like you HAVE to move people.  That being the case, maybe the best way to go is to put half of each group at each table (i.e. make the table 5 people from work and 5 who are distant cousins, etc.).  That way they'd have some people they were comfortable with, and some they can get to know.  Doesn't help with the re-printing, but again...doesn't sound like there's much you can do about that.

 Do you have enough centerpieces for the new number of tables?

Did you explain all this to the reception?? Can they fit 12, maybe squeeze it in?

We should have enough...I didn't even think about that aspect. UGH. 

So now I'm out the $50 for the seating chart and I have to try to get the poster reprinted before Friday. 

Oh well, I knew it couldn't all run as smoothly as it has been lol

She said 11 would be squeezing it, and quote "there's no way we can fit 12, you have to move them"  ugh.

Not that this helps your situation but if you're renting linens, make sure to tell teh vendor ASAP so you can ensure to have enough.  Sorry for the last minute headaches!

Ugh. This sucks to happen 4 days before your wedding. I have never even heard of an 11 person table. Isnt it usually 10 or 12? Is it a 10 person table and then they are just squeezing and extra person in? I like the suggestion of putting at least some people who know eachother together if you cant fit them all at the same table. FI was in a fraternity and we get invited to a ton of weddings through that and usually the group is too large to fit at one table but not big enough for two. I always appreciate when we at least have another couple to sit with that we know.

I think my mom and I have it figured out. It was just another panic moment...I'm done. lol
