OOT Bags

So...I'm playing around with the idea of making OOT bags for the guests staying at the hotel where we reserved a block of rooms. I'm getting married in Mackinaw City and I'd want everything in the bag to be locally/Michigan made...

What, of these, would you want to get in your OOT bag? And what else can you suggest?

-Vernor's
-Faygo Red Pop or Cream Soda
-Better Made Potato Chips or Popcorn
-Traverse City cherries
-Mackinaw fudge
-Mini box of Kellog's cereal

I'd also include water, aspirin, and a welcome letter.

I'd want a snack -- so either the chips or fudge.  And probably something for breakfast -- cereal, and keep in mind you can also include Kellogg's Nutrigrains.

FWIW, I don't think you need to provide local items, I think they key is just providing them with those few basic items to make their stay a little nicer.  But its a cute idea if you are able.

In the welcome letter, I would include nearby restaurants, shoppung, maps, etc.

I purchased Better Made chips for my OOT bags but only to find that they expired so soon, I called up the company and they were telling me it was my responsibility to inquire about the expiration date before I ordered the chips - WTH?! I was not impressed with their customer service.... Word of warning, don't order their chips until a couple of weeks before your wedding, I did a month or two before mine and they were going to expire a week before my wedding.

I donated the chips to the local Y that had a shelter for the homeless and purchased potato chips in bulk from Costco for way cheaper ($10 per 40 bags or so).

We selected our favorite drink, candies, etc (none were locally made) for the OOT bags.. Everyone most appreciated the water & drink because they were dead thirsty when they got to the hotel.

I just bought Germack peanuts for my OOT bags today, at the Westborn in Berkley.  They have the detroit tigers logo on them.  They were $2 for a good size bag, and made in detroit!  HTH!

I think I'm going to be putting in 2 bottles of water, a bag of chips, gum, a muffin for breakfast, and maybe a couple granola bars.  I'm also putting in a welcome letter and a list of things to do in the area (um, nothing really). Most of our guests are from Michigan, but they're driving a few hours in any direction.
