Need your opinion..

So the picture that FI and I used on our STD was a picture we took at a wedding show. They had him wear a pink feather Boa and holding a sign that said "finally engaged" it fit us PERFECT!! Since no one in his family thought he'd ever settle down. I thought it would be cute to have the groomsmen come into the reception with hot pink feather boa's on. I was also thinking of getting them those old 80's style plastic sunglasses that are plastic, with the colored arms. But I cant think of something cute for the girls to wear  in.

Any ideas?

Well, since it sounds like the idea is a "gender bender", how about getting the girls black plastic bowler style hats and maybe pretend canes?

I'm going to be the debbie downer here.  Maybe your friends are ok with it, but if I were in a wedding party, I really wouldn't like be introduced with extra props.  I'm just not a fan of being asked to do anything other than be introduced - whether it be dancing, dressing up, whatever.  I would go along with it, but I wouldn't like it.

I guess I'm just not into the "fun" introductions.

I'm with Meg - I'm not going to say don't do it, but I'm going to especially suggest that you ask each groomsman separately if he would want to wear a pink feather boa in public, especially when thousands of pictures of that night are  going to be taken and posted all over the web.  Then listen to their answer, and try to determine if they're actually saying yes, or saying "no, but I love you and it's your wedding so I'm going to let you emasculate me for your own amusement, but just this once."

I'm not saying that there aren't men out there who wouldn't mind this at all - but I'm willing to bet that in any given group of men, there's at least one who would prefer not to do this.  And making him do it for what amounts to your own enjoyment seems kind of mean - just like forcing your whole wedding party into some sort of choreographed dance would be uncool unless they were all totally into it.

I'm also with the two previous posters.    I'm not a fan of the props thing when in a wedding party.  BUT...I have been to a wedding where the bridal party entered with feather boas/sunglasses.  So I guess it really is all personal preference.  And then again, maybe your friends/bridal party are all totally into something like that.  In that case, I say go for it...it's just not for everyone

Totally, I wanted my WP to walk in wearing Shutter glasses and getting down... but after much thought, i knew they wouldnt want any part of it, so I am not goingto make them.

if you must put the girls in something, I like the first post on the hats and cane.
