Mike Staff Productions- DJ Reviews?

Hi everyone...just wondered if anyone has used/or is planning to use the Mike Staff Productions DJ services for their wedding reception? Their work looks great on websites and reviews that I have read, but I haven't attended any of their events. Any opinions/reviews would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks!

I loved Mike Staff! I have a bridal boutique & I've been in contact with a lot of DJ's & they are the only company I will reccomend! I loved my first appoinment with them - you go in & discuss everything you want in a DJ & they show you a video of the available DJ for your day to show their style. I went with Dave L. - by the end of the night my friends were taking pictures with him - everyone loved his service!

Hi Mary.  My friend used Mike Staff at her wedding 2 years ago and they were great.  Check the "stickies" at the top of this board that says vendor reviews and you can see others reviews and people who have used them.

***Nicole.  You are more than welcome to post on this board if you are getting married, however you can not post anything about your bridal boutique.  This is a vendor free board.  Please read the sticky at the top about rules on our board, "New Here. Read me first" to get more details.

Hi :) we are using MSP. Our DJ is Kevin Joynt. He's DJed a couple of my friends weddings and has done a great job.

Mike Staff has such a great reputation, but honestly I went to a wedding with them as the DJ, the videographer, and maybe the photographer too... I wasn't that impressed. They were good, yeah, but they seemed average to me. (And I don't like being filmed when I'm dancing at receptions! Ugh!) So IMHO they're overpriced for being good. I think you could get the same quality for cheaper elsewhere, but that's just me.

OK DJ's....I guess, but they were so rude to me when I interviewed them last year. No Thank You.
There are tons of good DJ's out there that are less money and not as cocky. Try Music Box Productions or The Music Butler. I've seen them both and they are great! Good Luck!

One of my close friends had Tim from Mike Staff DJ her wedding back in 2010.  I recently got engaged and loved him so much, that I immediately called and booked him for my wedding as well.  HIGHLY recommend him!

We booked Mike Staff to DJ our wedding next september. Josh will be our DJ and we met with Kurt Cologne. It was one of the easiest decisions to make for us. Everyone we met at the location was so nice and accomodating. I would highly reccomend meeting with them.

I'm using them and have been at weddings they've done. I'd agree that you can probably find better deals with other independent vendors, but I was feeling (self-inflicted) pressure to get them booked and be done with it. We're also using them for video services, so I liked that I'd only have to work with one vendor for both things.

I used Mike Staff for my wedding almost two weeks ago. Our DJ was Matt Hanchon and it was worth the price. He kept the dance floor full all night and the music was awsome.
Also, as pp if you e-mail them they are usally fast with responses. We spent the extra money on them and it was worth every penny.

Thanks so much for the feedback everyone! I have recently received the short video clips that they send to you to help with making a decision on your DJ. The choices were Jimmy Taylor, Matt Belz, and Tom Downey. Has anyone (or anyone you know) used either of these 3 DJs? I seem to be putting a lot of pressure on myself to make the right decision for entertainment! Any further help would be greatly appreciated!

    Happy Planning!
  • You are going to get what you pay for, especially with weddings! I am going with them for my wedding next year. Matt Belz will be my DJ. I have heard good things about all the DJ's there. This will be my 3rd wedding (unfortunately we were not able to do vegas as planned) so I have used independent DJ's and interviewed a ton of them! Mike Staff is the only one that truly impressed me. They may be pricey but from what I see, they are worth it! The DJ can make or breat your wedding.

This thread is 2 years old... I think most (if not all) of these posters are married and gone by now.
