Today's Mission: Manicure!

Tomorrow is my birdal shower and I'm wanting to get a manicure before hand. I really want to try Gelish or Shellac polish since I have weak, peely nails. I'm hoping if I start on doing that regularly my nails will be able to grow a little before the wedding! Anyone have any local suggestions... like around the Rochester Hills area?

Shellac is AWESOME. I'm a nurse and regular manicures/poish start chipping right off the bat. The Shellac I got done for my vacation in March lasted a good 3 weeks...really I only had it re-done becuase of the new growth. I would recommend the salon where I get mine done (my tech will do Shellac pedicures too) but I'm a little north of you. Good luck.

I actually live in Lake Orion, so a little north is fine too! Which salon do you go to? Thanks!

You could go to Luv in Rochester Hills.  It's in that Rochester Target complex at Auburn by Meijer.  They take walk-ins but it's best if you can get an appointment since it's a really popular place!

Shellac is awesome! I got it done 2 weeks ago and my nails still look good - and that's including me packing/moving, scrubbing my apartment, gardening, and typing all day every day at work. Normal polish lasts a day tops. I'm a shellac convert!

I actually just booked an appt @ the Rochester Luv! I'm super excited to try it out. Typically professional manicures start chipping for me after just a day tops!

Come back with reviews please.  I've been looking for a nail salon, and they are close to me so a couple days ago I decided I may need to check them out.

I go to Identity Salon in Grand Blanc, # is 810-695-2219. My girl's name is Lindsey and I believe she is the only one there that does Shellac. She's working today (I actually have an appt for 3:00). I think she charges $25 for a Shellac mani but she runs specials for new clients I believe. Check her out if you want!!

I got my nails done at Luv 2 weeks ago for my wedding and they did an awesome job.  I actually went in there to have them fix a botched manicure I got somewhere else!  It's not the cheapest place you can find, but they do it right.

I'll definitely post a review! I've been to that location before and gotten a mani/pedi, but never the shellac! I've also been to the location on Hall Rd in Shelby Twp. They aren't the cheapest, but the prices are pretty fair and it's always been very clean and friendly when I've went!
