Had our cake tasting on Tuesday!!!  It's SO delicious...and only $1.80 a slice - totally under budget!!

Over the weekend I finally was able to go and try on my dress. I hadn't seen it since July so I was pretty nervous..but I still love it thankfully!  Despite it being a corset back it is still way too big (though I haven't lost weight so that's annoying) and it will need to get taken in.  I also went ahead and bought some hair accessories and a veil. I wasn't sure if I wanted a veil or not so I think FI will be surprised to see that I'm wearing one. Here are some pics. My apologies if they are sideways.

We also picked out tuxes! Very classic..black, 2 button, lapel. Flat front pants. Black bow tie..no vest. Feeling pretty good about stuff right now.

We met with a photographer last night and it went so well. It was almost like it was meant to be, so FI and I are going to book her. I will probably send her an email later today.

Oh! And a NWR..

FI and I have been doing a lot of talking and we've made the decision to begin renting our apartment on a month to month basis and we're going to try to get back to Michigan!

We've been a bit everywhere on the subject over the last year..staying in Cinci for another 3-5 years, moving out west for a job for him to moving back home. In the end we decided that if our eventual goal is to get back there then at this point we might as well just do it now. Any new job FI will take at this point should have a very significant pay increase which helps. If we can get back while the housing market is at the point it is that would be wonderful. Both our families are from the metro-Detroit area so we want to get back before we start a family. We'll likely be looking in the Grand Rapids or Ann Arbor area so if anyone has any leads on teaching jobs (haha I know) or engineering/management jobs (for FI) let me know!

I'm really excited to have some sort of direction and hopefully we'll have a semi-permanent location this year!

Things are coming along nicely here!  The last of my BM gifts arrived so I will be dropping them off to be embroidered hopefully tomorrow.  The remaining of all of the gifts have been shipped.  Our candles for the votives arrived.  I get to try burning one this weekend just to make sure they are as good as all the reviews say.  My next dress fitting has been scheduled for April 5th.  Made almost final arrangements with the florist and chair covers.  I just need to get both of them final numbers and actually pick out the colors for the chair covers.  This has to wait until I get into town though.  Day of is finalized with officiate.  Programs are almost done.  Spa is scheduled day before and day of hair and make-up is finalized.  RSVP's are slowly trickling in.  

The best part though...we finalized our honeymoon!!  It's a non-tradiational one but perfect for us!!  We will be starting in Yuma July 1st and making our way through 6 states, 6 capitals over 3 weeks!!  So excited!!

NWR:  Next year March 30-April 7th we are going to Hawaii!  We booked our flights last night!!!  This will be our early anniversary celebration.  Other NWR I have the rest of this week and the following week to get through before spring break.  Looking forward to over a week off!

The house next door to us sold and a young couple is moving in! I'm so excited about this! FI and I were worried about who would end up buying the house, hopefully they are nice.

Also we splurged and bought ourselves a really nice patio set and it looks amazing! Now we have to get rid of the bees so I can sit out there without having a panic attack that I'm going to be stung.

on St. Patrick's Day FI drunkenly signed up for a coney eating contest for tomorrow, so I will be cheering him on at the Grand Coney while he stuffs his face full of coney's. I really want him to win, so we can take home the prize money

Today is 6 months until our wedding! And we've decided to take up his step-grandmother's offer to use her vacation home on Anna Maria Island, FL for our mini-moon immediately after the wedding. We're planning to save up for a one-year anniversary vacation/honeymoon traveling across Europe and/or Asia. And apparently, my awesome bridesmaids have completely planned my bachelorette party already and I can't wait to see what they've planned!

NWR, after nearly a year of trying to buy a short sale, we've found another house! Several counteroffers later (and feeling like we're on House Hunters), we've come to an agreement and if all goes well with the inspection and financing, we'll be closing at the end of April. After so many disappointments, seeing so many houses, and waiting around, I can't even express how much of a relief it is to move on with our life.

Our house is completely framed out!  With all the drama with FI's parents, I can not wait for it to be completed.

The biggest is that the marriage license is in hand!

I've got several errands planned for the weekend and we're finalizing the seating chart, so that should mean several checks on the list come Monday.

Yesterday I found the perfect set of 4 bracelets for my BM. The colors are great and the best part is the were on clearance. Regularly $29.99 down to $7.99 and than 20% off.  I got 4 sets at Somerset and Fi went to Lakeside today to get the other 3 I needed.

I also haven't seen fi in 8 days because of his work schedule. He is off today and tomorrow. I'm am so excited to just spend some time together.

We have gotten so much done this past week! We finalized our ceremony site, officiant, and picked out our invitations. We also had out tasting last week (during the tornado!) and finalized our menu. We also decided on our photographer and put down a deposit. But most importantly we booked our honeymoon!! I am super excited. We are flying to Rome the evening after the wedding and staying there for 4 nights then we are going on a 10 day cruise in the Mediterranean. I have never been anywhere outside of North America and neither has FI. I'm having a hard time focusing on studying right now lol
