Ribbon Ideas?

Hey ladies!

My bridesmaids will all be wearing "charcoal" colored dresses and carrying white flowers. My "accent" color is this really pretty teal/aqua color. I found our exact color ribbon at Michael's Craft Store and I was trying to think of ways to incorporate that into the bridesmaids' wardrobe. I thought about taking a long pearl necklace and twisting it so it became shorter, and then tying the ribbon around it to hold it together... but each girl will have a different dress and not all of them will look good with a necklace. So then I thought it might be neat to do that with a bracelet, but the ribbon is a little thick and it might be too much on the wrist. Any ideas?? I want them to have that color somewhere on them, but I am not sure how to incorporate it!

What about around their bouquets or their waists?

Around their waist sounds really good Especially since the ribbon is thick.

Thanks ladies! Would you suggest having it stitched on when they get their dresses altered? I figure it may not stay too well if it's just tied, right?

You could also do like a flower or accessory in that color.

what if you put the ribbon onto a head band for the girls?

Those were our exact wedding colors - graphite, aqua, and accents of white! I chose one BM dress designer and certain styles and let the girls pick the silhouette they felt most comfortable in. The dresses already had sashes attached and because graphite had a larger role in other aspects of the wedding, I chose aqua dresses with graphite sashes and white bouquets. It would look just as pretty the other way around. But aqua bouquet wraps, necklaces and/or bracelets would look great, too.

<div>Oh, how cool!! Do you have pics from your wedding?? I'd love to see it! :) I am also letting my girls pick out their own dress styles. One of my BM is pregnant right now and due 3 months before the wedding. She may have a hard time trying on sample dresses, but she can get an idea :) Another BM is trying to get pregnant so she picked a dress that comes in maternity and non-maternity! Were your BM dresses flowy or were they the satin material? We are going with a very soft, romantic theme so they will all be in flowy dresses :) I think I may have the ribbon just tied around the base of their bouquets... that way I don't have to figure out how to make bracelets, etc :) </div>

I have lots of pics, but I can never figure out how to do a PIP (if anyone knows how please share!) So here's a public FB link to the album that has the most BP pics. Let me know if it doesn't work.

I opted for a heavier silk satin, just because our wedding was a little more formal, the colors on the satin matched the exact shades we used everywhere else in the wedding, and there were more dress options for the girls to choose from. Each BM ended up in a different dress. I was happy with the satin not only because of how it looked, but our wedding day was so chilly and windy. We got married last May, and the day before and the day after our wedding was in the mid-80 degree range, but our wedding day was 57 and really windy. The satin helped keep the girls warm!

A silk chiffon in charcoal/graphite would be beautiful and romantic. It does snag easily, so just have your girls be very careful when trying their dresses on before the wedding. but I think with ruffly (is that even a word?) white flowers that would really get the look you're going for. I love bouquet wraps, too. You can also find aqua jewelry pretty inexpensively - a girl I know just got married and she found turquoise necklaces at Francesca's Collections for her coral BM dresses and the necklaces were under $30 a piece. Also, with end of summer sales there are some good opportunities to find aqua jewelry. Hope this helps a little!
