DJ Rant! *Long*

So i've been talking to a dj that has come highly recomended by other knotties...i got a quote, then spoke on the phone and the dj then tried to change the price and terms we emailed about.  I wasn't real happy with the situation and some what worried about the changes-so i talked the dj back to the agreed upon price, but the dj would not guarantee who would be doing the work for that price...blah blah blah A week after we have this conversation I get this contract we spoke about on the phone, and the price is $100 more.  So i again send the email to the dj and explain how i thought we had cleared this up.  And i get a response...oh well i had a meeting and we just can't do it for that price sorry, that's the best price i can do....UGH!Ok, how unprofessional is it to give a quote by email and phone and then think it's ok to change the price when you mail out the contract a week later-but not bother to send another email or make a phone call to explain the situation!  So ANNOYING!  I would have almost been ok with it if the person said "hey listen, i was mistaken on the first price we sat down and worked out the legistics and it's just not going to work, i understand that this puts you in a uncomfortable situation, please accept my apology for my mistake."  But no, insteady try to slip the price adjustment in, that way if i don't read it closely, i'm stuck. So i nicely said i would prefer to work with a company that is honest in their busn practices and stands by the quotes given, and not try to slip in price changes on the contract!!!!Sorry for the long post...i'm just so irked!

I would be ticked too.  That's ridiculous.  If you're still looking, Jack Brown DJ is our dj and he's been by far our favorite vendor.  Good luck.

The reason was "after the meeting i just couldn't get a dj to do it for the price" I really don't have that much of a problem with the price adjustment...it's that i was never contacted or notified of the price adjustment after we agreed upon a price quote during email and phone conversations.  It was just added to the contract and i had to contact them and ask why the contract was different than our conversations.

Is your wedding on a holiday weekend or something and that's why they couldn't find anyone to do it for that price? Or do you have something going on with your wedding that wold require extra work/time that wasn't considered before maybe? Hmm.
