Hotel Room Block in Detroit

Hey girls!  I am getting married at The Colony Club in Detroit.  I have been calling around to some different hotels to check out the options.  My top pics are...1. Athenium - I like that they have a complimentary shuttle...but room prices were like $170.  Has anyone heard or experienced their prices going lower than that?2. Greektown Casino - $109/night for king.  $129/for 2 doubles.  3.  Book Cadillac - $149/night.  Good price for this hotel but if Greektown is cheaper that might be my best option...Any ideas or feedback?  Has anyone else done room blocks at any of these hotels?  If so, what kind of rate did you get?

Review in my bio. We used the Omni Riverfront, they also had a shuttle if we booked a certain amount of rooms and they were great! Our guests loved the hotel as well. Our rate was $129, but they have gone lower I think since our wedding. Personally, I think the rooms at the Atheneum are not that nice and a bit dated. From what I have seen and heard at the Casino, those are so super nice, so that might be the best option if you want to stay downtown.

Hi! We are getting married at the Colony club too. We just reserved hotel blocks at the Marriott in the Renaissance Center and Hilton Garden Inn. I think the Marriot was $109 a night and offerred transportation to and from the reception. The Hilton was $99 a night I think but I don't think they had transportation. Good Luck! :-)

Just wanted to say to remember that you can make room blocks at a couple of hotels and let your guests choose. that way, if they want to pay the extra for the Atheneaum, they can or they can choose the lower priced one.
