Last song at your reception?

My friend played Don't Stop Believin' and everybody flipped out and screamed the lyrics and danced (stumbled) around and it was a lot of fun. But I don't want to rip off that idea. What did you play?

FI wants to play Enterlude or Exitlude by the Killers. It has the lyrics "it's good to have you with us, we hope you enjoyed your stay" so it seems fitting but the second version also describes "flashfloods of pain"....so we're re-thinking it.

We're going to play Jackson Brown's "Load Out" which is not really a real song but something that he played once to end a concert, but it turns in to "just a little bit longer" or whatever that songs called! haha

We ended up with Billy Joel-Piano Man. It wasn't planned that way but we loved it. We were all standing around in a huge circle with our arms around each other, swaying to the music and singing the lyrics. Kevin's family started the tradition so I just requested it be played sometime during the night.

We didn't request anything specific, but he played a montage from the movie Grease. It had the "Summer Nights" song and "Grease Lightning". It was pretty good, everyone was singing as they were dancing!

I like the Piano Man idea.  It reminds me of spring break in college (1995) when my friend Nate sang it at karaoke and all of us fraternity and sorority people were standing around with our arms around each other singing along w/ him.I think Mike and I will have to discuss what to do since he never likes any of the songs I pick for anything.  LOL  He does like Billy Joel but otherwise he doens't like anything but Elvis and the Beatles.

I've heard "Don't Stop Believing" at a couple of past weddings as the final song. It reminds me of roller-skating parties from grade school. :) We're using "Take Me Home Tonight" by Eddie Money. It's a nod to all of my sorority sisters who are traveling in from long distance - it used to be one of our favorite college bar tunes. It's also just a fun song in general.

I might just go ahead and rip off Don't Stop Believin' -- it's a crowd pleaser for sure. And then the U-M fight song. Hopefully we'll be playing it after a win that day...Thanks for all your ideas!

We did Green Day "Time of your life". it was sweet, everyone was in a big circle with their arms around each other and singing/swaying. We definitely played Don't stop believing earlier in the night, that's a huge crowd pleaser.
