I saw that you are buying your own liquor! FMIL insists on going to a liquor store near our venue - but their quote was more than double of what you spent. Did you buy ALL of your liquor yesterday?? Also, what did you use to calculate how much you will need? I used a liquor calculator from "Real Simple" & I just feel like we would need more than what they calculated... TIA!

I think we bought most of it! We're doing beer & wine (those were bought from Costco & not included in the $650) then 4 signature drinks, one with vodka, rum, whisky & one TBD. So we still have to figure out & buy one more. For the $650 we got: 24 bottles of champagne (3 Moet for head table ($35 each) then some random for the guests that was $15/bottle but he gave it to us for $10.) 3 bottles of Jim Beam (the big bottles, I'm conversion challanged - 750 ml?) 3 bottles of Three Olives Vodka (big bottles) 6 bottles of some random Rum, Admiral something (they were smaller bottles) I hope that covers everyone. My brother's a bartender & the shop manager helped us get to those numbers. We figure out of the approx. 200 guests we have about 140 of them are drinkers. Those wouldn't be my brands of choice, if I was out, but when you're paying for a ton of people to drink, & they'll be mixed drinks, I figure it won't matter as much. Hopefully :)

Awesome! Thank you so much!! The quote the store owner gave us was about $1500 and I just feel as if we could get a lot better prices if we went to Costco or something!

Where's your reception at? That was from Park Place Wine Shop at 25257 Evergreen Rd in Southfield. He also said we can return unopened bottles. Some of his wine prices were better than Costco too, I noticed.

it's at the grosse pointe war memorial - we're all set with the wine; a family friend owns a vineyard so that was our wedding gift (super grateful!) - but i'm sure the liquor prices at costco are much cheaper than the stores we got estimates from - that and the fact that the stores both invoiced us for fifths rather than the liters... i guess i'll just have to take the invoices with me to costco and compare!! thanks for your help!
