Wow...I wasn't being presumptuous about having a wedding on a Friday. I tried to accommodate our guests and we had a great turnout to the ceremony & reception. That's a harsh statement to make, especially with all of the Friday brides that post.

I am also having a Friday wedding and like leeshab1982 we plan on having everything later in the evening. Our ceremony will be at the hall and we will start everything at 7pm and go to 1 am. My parents have set so much aside for the wedding (same amount as my brothers...but since I am the baby and only girl I am getting more financial help than my brothers!) but the rest of our expenses fall upon us. We are doing everything you would on a Saturday: ceremony, eat, drink, be merry, and dance! So cantblobubbles, I think as long as you and your husband to be do not mind planning things for a later time, everything should work out. As the other posters have pointed out it is hard with rush hour and out of towners. It really is a money saver!! And the only gripe was that we are not having a church ceremony. Our families understand that a day makes all the difference in the world and are fine with our decision.

We are sending out Save The Dates over 10 months in advance so that people will be able to plan ahead. We are wording the date as "Friday, July 30, 2010" because most people are never going to look at a calendar and realize that it's a Friday. They will just assume that it's a Saturday until they get the formal invitation a month before the wedding and it's too late.
