I really didn't want to spend this much, but mine was $1,700. Granted, it would have only been $1,400 but because I am 5' and they needed to make it for my little size, it was $300 more.

The dress by itself was $750. I haven't had any alterations yet. I got it from David's in Taylor. All the ladies have been nice so far.

Dress alone was $1100. Altertions will be another $100 or so. Didn't buy mine D-Riv. But I recommend Elizabeth's in Northville!

$1200 for the dress, $40 to have cups sewn in and just over $100 for the bustle. So altogether about $1350. Fortunately, my mother purchased the dress for me.I don't know of any dress shops Downriver, sorry.

I spent $300, no alterations (but they did have to fix the zipper at their own cost since it was broken when I found it and another $40 for the bustle.  I got the last one on the rack and I got it at David's Bridal in Troy/Mad Hts.Don't know of any Downriver bridal shops Downriver, but I'm sure if you search for bridal salons in the area, something should come up.

I haven't bought mine yet, but OMG I can't believe how much they charge us for some fabric sewn together!  I'm looking to spend no more than 6 or 7 hundred at either David's or a used dress shop.

Mine was $600.  I found mine at a shop in Rochester and then found a girl who was selling hers on craigslist.  I have a feeling I'm going to be paying a lot in alterations though!

Dress was $500, Group USA in Great Lakes Crossing Alterations $350, Eva's bridal in Garden City. They are absolutely WONDERFUL there. They have a decent dress selection, great shoe selection and a lot jewelry. They also have an Eva's outlet store which is a couple shops down. Good Luck!!

I bought my prom dress from eva's bridal. 110 dollar prom dress....250 dollars in alterations. I think that they are slightly higher than any other salon as far as alterations go!!!(But they did good work)

Lisa R- I got 2 prom dresses from Victorias back in the day. I will have to go look there. I've seen a couple dresses online at David's that I like and a couple Alfred Angelo dresses that I like. The problem is that my mother won't tell me an exact amount that she wants to spend. I'm not being greedy, my parents are paying for a majority of the wedding and I am very thankful for that. I don't want to spend a fortune on a dress but I need to know what area to be looking in.

Ya I spent a lot too (3K) but its worth it.  I found it at Maria's in Rochester but I ordered it from Macy's.  They had such better service!

Mine was $400.00 from David's (in Fort Gratiot).  I haven't had my alterations done yet, but I'm expecting it to be on the high side considering I'm only 5'0" and need it taken up quite a bit.  Sorry, not too familiar with Downriver bridal salons.

Mine cost just under 900 (it was 918 but I got 10% from a coupon from a bridal show).  I went to Bella Donna's in Wyandotte.  I loved them, they were wonderful.  Not over your shoulder the whole time but pulled beautiful dresses that they thought you would like.  Very helpful!  I worked with Catherine and Ellen

Roughly $4500 on the dress, plus $450 on alterations, and another $100 on a custom made veil.  I love my dress but seeing this in writing makes me want to puke.

My dress was more than I wanted to spend - $999 before alterations (but I got a free veil!) and I purchased from Fantastic Finds in Lansing. If you can make the drive it's so worth it because they have SO many dresses. I grew up downriver and got my prom dress from Bella Donna's - I wouldn't recommend them because they wait until the last minute to get your alterations done and when I did get my dress back it wasn't altered correctly so I had to pick up my prom dress (still not sized correctly) the day before my prom. I can't imagine going through that for a wedding. I got my bridesmaids dress for my sister's wedding from Eva's - I wouldn't recommend them either. They measured me and I ended up between sizes... I don't know if they thought I wanted to lose weight or what but they put me in the smaller size (which I didn't know until the dress came in and barely fit) and I had to argue to get them to let out the waist (even though they don't include the cost of alterations in their prices). It's not exactly downriver, but I highly recommend Diane's Dream Brides. They are so friendly and helpful. My mom had to purchase a dress off the rack from them within weeks of my sister's wedding and they made it all happen. They even recommended a seamstress that had the alterations done within days.
