The Knot name change kit

Has anyone gotten the name change kit from the Knot? Does it have state specific information and forms? I noticed some other kits do. Thanks! (Placing an order to take advantage of the 15% off that ends tonight.)

I didn't get it and I am in the middle of changing my name with everyone. Personally, I think it is a waste of money and a way for theknot to get more money. Save your money. Google will give you all of the forms you need and tell you where you need to change things.

What do you have to do to get your name changed?

Basically you start at the social security office (google for form) and get your social security card changed. After waiting 24 hours, you go to the secretary of state to get your drivers license changed (google for form). Once you get both items in the mail, you start doing everything else, credit cards, bank accounts, insurance, change it through your work at the same time you do your bank account so your direct deposit goes through.... then the little things like changing CVS for your prescriptions, and changing info through doctors offices... I've been keeping my marriage license, social security card, and my old and new driver's license as proof for everywhere I go.

I bought it for a friend as one of her Bachelorette party gifts. It was a HUGE hit! I looked through it with her and it comes with a CD with a checklist to make sure you cover everything, including things one might not think about. For that, I think it is good. But, like Rebecca said, it is not necessary. HTH.
