Help! Post Your Color Scheme

I am getting married June 25 and the next planning step is choosing colors so we can do flowers/dresses and decor. Our reception is at the Dearborn Inn so I am keeping the room in mind. I think am having such a difficult time with this because I am not sure if we are going to one event planner or seperate vendors like florists and linens.  How did you go about choosing this all? Please post your colors! Thanks! Katie

hi katie! how exciting to be picking your colors; it really helps plan everything once you get them figured out!we are going with navy blue and apple green - we wanted something classic (navy) and the green really popped next to it.we chose all separate vendors just because i found some that i really loved... good luck! :)

We're at the same point and I'd love to see everyones colors!  We're having a hard time deciding too, which seems silly to me - they're just colors - but still I'm struggling!

Here's mine: I chose mine because I'm having a fall wedding, and my location is fairly neutral in terms of colors already in the room. The walls are light and the carpet is a neutral tone, so I didn't have to worry too much about that. I wanted fall colors but something a little different so I threw the plum into the mix. I'm thinking I'll just use that in flowers and maybe some paper items.I would just figure out what scheme you like best and then see how it would fit in the room. If I remember correctly, the Dearborn Inn is a very light elegant looking room that could probably handle a number of color combos.

I'm getting married in the fall, but didn't want a fall theme...so we went the classic route..black, white and some touches of dark red.  We didn't use a planner, just researched the vendors really well and went from there.  Good luck.

We are getting married May 29 and doing a navy blue and fuschia pink color scheme with ivory to help pull it together. It was a color combo that I have always loved and I don't see it done too often. I have a navy blue and pink shirt that I like and I hold onto that for inspiration and color swatching.

We are getting married next August and our colors are chocolate brown, champagne, and lilac. I'm going for an elegant victorian theme. The hall has really high cielings and wood floors with pretty chandeliers so I wanted to incorporate all of that. Plus I think the colors I picked out are classy and elegant. Other than that, I don't have much of a theme. The tables will have different names of flowers with a centerpiece of that flower. My favors are going to be flower seeds. HTH!

We are getting married in early March, and we chose dark brown and light pink.  The girls are wearing dark brown dresses and going to carry pink and white flowers.  The groomsmen are going to wear brown tuxes! in June you are open to almost any color you want.  I am the type of person who loves a beautiful contrast in color.  I love when flowers pop aganist the dresses.  But that is just me, you will find your colors!  what are you leaning towards now? Also go with your gut.  I kept changing my mind at first as well, but it always ended back where i started!

Our colors are navy blue and fuchsia.  The bridesmaids will have navy blue dresses and fuchsia flowers, but I'm not sure what we'll do with the groomsmen yet.  Our package at our hall comes with a lot of stuff (chair covers and floral centerpieces) so we never had to hunt for those vendors.

We both wanted orange but didn't want to look like halloween so it's mostly black/silver with orange & red accents. I mostly used recommendations from this board for vendors. good luck :)

We're date twins!!  And I looked into the Dearborn Inn, too (but chose to have it at the HFE instead)! Now back to your question, my colors are champagne and various shades of pinks and green.  The green because our venue has a lot of green.  Pinks because I knew I wanted pink flowers.  And champagne because it was the most summery neutral I could think of for my girls to wear.  I think this was one of the most difficult decisions I had to make.  Good luck!HTH!

My colors were fuschia, black and ivory. It was easiest to choose colors after choosing my dress and then the BM dresses. I didn't worry about the color of my reception room because since I had chair covers, once the place is decorated, your eyes don't go to the carpet and curtains in the room. I chose my dress first, and then I chose BM dresses. BM dresses don't always come in the exact color you are looking for, so I found it easy to pick them first before saying I wanted fuschia pink or light pink or whatever. I picked a style I liked then I chose the color I liked. I then ordered swatches from Dessy (who made the dresses) to take to the florist so that they could match the flowers. I chose ivory because my dress was ivory, but I used my venues white linens. That was the only thing that was white white. The black came in from the tuxedos. I also incorporated some silver later since we had a silver cake stand and the centerpieces were in julip cups. There are some pics of everything in my Married Bio.
