Renewing License Plate?

My bday is 9/9. I haven't gotten my renewal notice for my license plate yet. How long should I wait before I just suck it up and go to SOS and renew in person? I want to say that I should already have gotten the notice, what do you think? (FI's bday is 8/31 and he got his about 2 weeks ago, mailed it in and got his new tabs already.)

TTC #1 since 8/2010...2 years, 6 IUI's and 1 m/c later...
08/2012 IVF #1, 2 5-day blasts transferred 8/19 = BFP! Beta 1 (8/28)=241, Beta 2 (8/30)=457, Beta 3 (9/5)=3,813, u/s 9/13=Twins!, u/s 9/21=Surprise...there's one more! TRIPLETS!

    Just don't wait until after your birthday, or you'll be charged a $10 late fee!!Is the expiration date YOUR bday? Sometimes if it is your AND someone else's name and then they sell it completely to you, you keep the same date. (even if it was THEIR bday)

    I think you can do it online! Michigan.gov, then go to sec'y of state!

    you def should have gotten it by now...mine is 9/15, and i got it in early august. i would've done it online but with my new name, i had to go in there in person. ugh :(but yeah, i bet you can do it online...unless you need a PIN that they sometimes print on your renewal notice. can't remember if that's how it works or not b/c every other year i've been too much of a procrastinator and waited until after my bday! GL!

    Ugh I just checked online and it says that I do need a PIN to renew online. They sure don't make anything easy in this state, do they? I'm going to give it a few more days and if I don't have it, I'll have to drag my butt to a branch office and do it there :-/ Thanks ladies!

    boo, that sucks! i hope it comes soon...not sure what area you are in, but i usually try to go to an SOS office in a 'smaller' area b/c they are usually less busy. like i went to the one in brighton the other day over the one in ann arbor, and i only waited about 10 minutes. GL!

    I live in Sterling Heights. I don't even know where the closest one is! lol I just moved out here last year (and was able to renew online last year with no problem). When I lived downriver I always went to the smaller ones that were tucked out of the way too and usually got in and out fairly quick. I hope it comes soon too! It would be soooo much easier! :)

    You totally should have gotten it by now. I would definitely just go there and get it over with...
