FFIL vent

FFIL keeps inviting random people to our wedding.  He's told about 7 people now to "just come on over" to our wedding.  Um, hi...it's not an open house, it's a WEDDING!!He says, "I feel bad I didn't invite those people now." Well, I'm sorry you feel that way, but we're 18 days out.  No more invites. Thanks for letting me vent! :)

Um, hi...it's not an open house, it's a WEDDING!!LOL...what is it that people just don't understand about weddings? My dad asked me the other day if we could invite people but tell them to come after dinner?!? He was joking, but seriously...no!

When I went to FSIL's wedding that's how she did things.  People just randomly showed up and she was fine with it.  I on the other hand would not be ok with it lol.

That's insane! I would be so furious. Have you spoken with FMIL? Maybe she can explain to him that this isn't appropriate.

FMIL told him he needed to get out his check book if he wanted this to happen.  I don't mind if these people come, I just wish he would have told me this 2 months ago when the invites went out!He hasn't hardly talked to FI in the last year and now all of a sudden he wants to invite the entire world to our wedding. Boo.

That's frustrating, I'm sorry!! I hope you are able to get through these next days without your guest list growing too much :)

this happened to me as well... but i was out of invites... so they went and "made" their own... i'm still waiting on if these people are coming or not, my final count is due thursday & they wont call them because they think it's rude to call so soon after the invites went out. i'm like oh well MY invites went out 2 months ago...

"My dad asked me the other day if we could invite people but tell them to come after dinner?!?" I've heard this several times but they weren't joking.

Meghan that is awful!  I can't believe they did that to you! Mink-That's exactly what FFIL was doing with a few of his friends.  I can't just have a huge group walk in after dinner, they will really think something is up and charge me!

OH my.... You know, my FI has been doing a little bit of that.  He's now telling people to come for drinks because the guest list is full. Uh, hello?  Dad is still payng $7.50 pp for the bar!!!!  I told hiim the few people he invited for drinks are fine but do NOT invite any more!!!

Didn't have that problem with the parents, but my MOH asked if her daughter (who was a BM) could bring her friend to the wedding.  I told her I would let her know and my Mom was furious.  She said the friend could come after 10:30.  It didn;t go over well with MOH or her daughter, so I told them that if they felt that way they could both stay home and we would take MOH's son (who was our RB) home after everything was done. They wanted the friend there because they were leaving at 6 am for Kalahari.  Big flippin deal.
