Vendor Review - Flowerman

D-
I really hate to write a review like this as this was one of the vendors I was most excited about.  I had nothing but good things to say up until the wedding day.  Working with Melissa was easy and the DIY was easy and fun for all of us.  However, the bad news.  On our wedding day, I had scheduled with Melissa to have my husband pick up the flowers at a certain time in the morning.  My husband went to the cooler to meet Melissa and pick up our flowers, and no Melissa.  She ended up running a half a hour late (which screwed up the guys' schedule) and gave the excuse that because everyone else ran late on her, it's ok for her to run late (they were to meet at 9:30 am).  We were never late for a meeting with her and this is completely unprofessional.  On top of this, the flowers sucked.  They were never put back in the cooler as instructed.  The flowers were very pretty, however they were wilting all over the place, even before the ceremony started.  They all seriously fell apart.  The corsages and bouts we made had all of their flowers fall off, a petal at a time (the corsages and bouts were not even the same type of flower).  We have so many pictures of the mother's wristbands with no corsage.  Seriously horrible.

Oh no! I decided to go with flowerman as well!
I am so sorry it turned out so bad. I was a little worried about going with them.
Maybe I should make sure I put them in the cooler myself. I am doing my flowers on Thursday and I am not getting married until Saturday.
I am so sad to hear it was so bad.
I read your other reviews and thankfully the music and the venue are what people remember!!!! Congrats!!!

Thank you for this review!  I feel simply awful that you had to have this unfortunate situation but I'm grateful you took your time to review them, as they were one of my considerations.  I was already leaning toward someone else and I think this was my cue to go ahead with the other.

I'm really sad to hear this!  I went with flowerman for my flowers and am creating everything on Thursday with a Saturday wedding.  I really appreciate your review though!  I'll make sure I'm more eyeful of my flowers and timing the day of pick-up!  Thanks so much for your honesty!  I guess we'll just have to keep a close eye on our flowers and such!!!  Good looking out, but I'm sorry that you had to experience this!

    Hi, Ladies!

This is Melissa with The Flowerman.  I just want to apologize to Jennifer (again) for her bad experience.  I have completed over 125 DIY weddings here in Columbus, and have never received a single bad review or complaint (with the exception of this one).  I just wanted to set the record straight that Jennifer's flowers WERE refrigerated. As soon as they were completed, they were placed in the coolers for storage.  They looked beautiful when the guys picked them up.  The groom signed for the flowers when he picked them up, verifying that everything looked perfect/in good condition and nothing was damaged at the time they were taken from our coolers/care.  As for the pick-up time, I believe that there must have been some confusion regarding the pick-up time... for that, I really apologize.  When the guys called me to say that they were already at the coolers to pick up the flowers, I was really shocked by how early they were!  They were early according to my schedule, but they said I was late.  I'm so sorry about that.  There were other employees present at the coolers who could have helped with the pick-up, but I asked if the guys would mind waiting for me to arrive so that I could personally check the flowers and get their signature on the paperwork that they were satisfied with the quality of everything.  They agreed to wait.  As for the flowers, I have no idea why the corsages fell apart.  I believe we used orchids for the corsages, which are typically a very hardy flower.  They must have broken at the stem, as they do not have individual petals which can fall off.  I have spoken to my boss regarding your order, Jennifer, and suggested that he refund your money for the boutonnieres and corsages since you had trouble with them.  Finally, I just want to clarify what was said at the pick-up on the day of the wedding... I did not say "It's OK that I'm late because everyone else is always late."  What I said was, "I'm not used to people showing up early to pick up the flowers... people usually run late!"  I think there is a very big difference.  I was not excusing the fact that I was late, I was just expressing surprise at the fact that they were early... which, evidently, was my mistake for not coordinating the time of the pick-up better.  Again, my immense apologies to Jennifer for the bad experience she had with our company.  The flowers looked amazing when they left my care, and I cannot say how they were treated or what happened once they left our coolers.  Our company takes great pride in providing brides with wonderful service and ultra-fresh flowers... I deeply regret that your wedding was an exception to our usually excellent service.  I have very high standards, and it makes me feel absolutely sick that you had a bad experience.  I hope to provide you with a refund for your boutonnieres and corsages very soon, and I hope you enjoyed your wedding and are loving married life in spite of the flowers being less than what you expected or deserve.

    All the Best, Melissa Nickerson
