Non-Alcoholic Drinks

We are having an adults only reception (mostly because we didnt have any children to invite) and all beverages other than water and coffee are to be provided by us.  We have calculated all the wine and beer to bring, but i have no idea how to calculate the soda.
We're probably going to keep it to 3-4 varieties, and i dont know how to guesstimate for 155 guests and a 5 hour reception.
Any help, or explanations to how you are doing it (or have done) are welcome.

Assume a min of two to three pops per person.

are you talking just additional drinks or are you asking about mixers? i think i saw a good calculation for how much you need for a bar somewhere. when i get home from work tonight, i'll look through my wedding junk on my laptop to try to find it.

Were not doing liquor, so theres no mixers.

We just need to figure out how many sodas people will drink.  I think with beer, wine, water & coffee, soda may end up being the minority.  Most adults will be drinking at this party.

Im thinking 2 per person should be enough? Maybe?

Talk to Roger Gentile from Gentile Wine Cellars - you don't have to use him, but he is AWESOME at estimating all this stuff for you!

I am a diet coke junkie, and especially if I am dancing and I am not paying for it I would drink more, I would say like 3 per person, just to be on the safe side.

I would estimate between 3-5 drinks per person. But I would also talk to your venue and take into consideration your reception length and time frame. Your venue may have a good idea of the average consumption.

i feel like 3 sodas per person is a lot, especially if you have alcohol being served and water/coffee are offered as well. i think if it were me, i'd do 2-2.5 per person and i'd lean heavily on easy things like punch or lemonade because they are cheap. or at the very least, pick the stuff you like so if you have tons of leftover pop you can drink it over time.

Lol,  I met with the caterer and she said 1.5 drinks per person.  THats a whole lot less than what i was thinking, and thats a good thing.
