Day Of coordinator?

Well, this is exactly the place we want to splurge, but we're considering hiring a Day Of coordinator - simply someone who will help set up the reception and such.  Literally, a few hours.  Any suggestions on someone CHEAP and trustworthy?

After butting heads with my first wedding coordinator because I wanted a simple DOC and not someone asking me if I was staying in budget three times a week, and pushing vendors on me, I had given up hope and decided to go it alone.  However, a lady named Heather Hanselmann contacted me because I had requested information about her services a month or two before I contracted with the planner that did not work out.

While my wedding has not taken place yet, I cannot speak more highly of Heather.  Take it from someone who went the CHEAP route the first time around ($350).  She's professional, friendly and will hopefully be a great addition to our wedding. She is also very well-organized and has an assistant to attend the wedding with her.  She is helping us set up the night before for the cost of a hotel room and will be there from start to finish day of.  She has a website and her company is called Every Event Elegant.  I'd check her out but from one budget bride to another her DOC package is $595, which was more than we had initially wanted to pay.

You can always have a family member or friend do it.  Ppl always want to be involved and help.  Friend of mine used her aunt.  She just googled DOC service and came up with a checklist for her for the day of.  It worked out fine.  Especially if you have all your planning done.  I really think everyone needs someone to help them the day of.

Check out Ana Titus - she seems like a super great DOC, and it hasn't been too long since she was a newlywed herself, so she knows all about the experiences.  :)

If my venue hadn't already come with an amazing DOC, I would have booked Ana for sure!  She was a knottie on the boards a while back, and always had great advice and info to share.  Last I had checked (granted, this was about a year ago), she was just kind of launching her business and prices were more than reasonable for what she offered.  Best of luck!

Check out Joii de Vivre. She does the last 3 months (typing up the last minute details) all the way to 100% start to finish. She is my WP but does everything. :)  http://www.jdveventsllc.com
