Cobblestone Farm in Ann Arbor, MI - Info needed

Hi everyone,
I'm in the process of checking out ceremony and reception sites.  I've stumbled across Cobblestone Farm in Ann Arbor, MI and it looks beautiful.  If anyone is familar with this site I would love your input.  Is there help provided for set up?  Can we bring in our own catering company?  What is the cost?  Was staff helpful and friendly?  And anything else you can think of informing me about would be awesome!
Thanks so much,Jenn

Stephanie (hippie4yahweh) had her wedding there last June. I'm not sure if she's on this board much anymore, but you can find her on the Detroit Nestie page.

Plus there is some info here: http://www.a2gov.org/government/communityservices/ParksandRecreation/Pages/CobblestoneFarmCenterRentals.aspx.

I thought I saw on the parks and rec website when I was looking a while back that you can only bring beer and wine (as in you are supposed to have hard liquor) but i don't know if this is actually enforced or if I could even find it again.

I live about a mile from there. I have a friend who had her reception there about 4 years ago. I ended up booking it in my name because it's a lot cheaper if you live in the city of Ann Arbor (not just an Ann Arbor mailing address). IIRC they have all the tables and chairs, but you have to provide pretty much everything else. They also don't allow hard liquor, only beer and wine (and they were strict about it). They used to do open tours on Saturdays from 10-1 and if you went, you could get a discount when you booked it. It's nice that they have indoor and outdoor space as well as free parking in Ann Arbor.

Im having my wedding there in October. They will set up the tables as you want but you do the rest. Our wedding in on a Friday and after Oct. 1st so it was a tad cheaper. I tried to get the AA discount but it didnt work. I just LOVE the place. The nice thing about bringing everthing in is of course cost. We are still way under budget and almost everything planned and payed for due to competition between companies. You arent allowed hard liquor, but beer wine champagne and malted drinks are allowed:o) There is also a historic farm house museum on the ground that can be opened up- guest will have the choice of walking through during cocktail hour, no drinks or food allowed but its only a $50.00 donation for 2 hours,  a nice touch. :o)

    oma11ey,

I can't get this place out of my mind.  When I search for other places I just keep thinking of Cobblestone.  I live in Riverview (downriver), so Ann Arbor is about a 45 minute drive.  This makes my fiance a little nervous about the idea.  He's worried the distance will make things a little more stressful.

Question:  Are you going to pay for a day-of wedding planner to help you set everything up?  I considered this because I just don't want to burden my family with it and I don't want to worry about it myself.  Who is the caterer that you're going to use?  My fiance and I are trying to stay within a really reasonable budget.  So many of the other venue prices are way out of our budget.

I looked into Cobblestone and a friend of mine got married there.  Both my friend and I felt the staff can be unorganized and she even had a little panic attack the day before when she was confirming things, but it worked out in the end (they had a halloween thing and there were supposed to be kids in costumes running around the property the day of my friend's wedding due to a scheduling conflict).  I ended up not signing with them because I wanted to make sure everything ran smoothly and didn't think I needed to freak out over a scheduling issue with the venue.
