I need your recommendations on where to get hair and make-up done please...

Hi Knotties!

Do any of you know of salons that offer wedding party packages in the Troy/Birmingham/Clawson/Rochester area?

I have a vision of all my girls getting their hair and make-up done together while drinking mimosas at a swanky salon...am I dreaming or does this actually happen?

Where did you go to have your hair and make-up done?  Anyone use a travel stylist?  Pros/cons of each?

I have been mulling over this for the past two weeks and need to make a decision ASAP as my wedding is on NYE.  HELP! : (

Hi Sarah Check out the vendor sticky (post at the top of the board with the push pin). There are lots of good reviews there.

I'm getting married in Birmingham and am getting ready at the Townsend. We have a suite and I'm bringing in a team to do hair and makeup for any BM that wants it. Im using Posh Studio and it's about $300 for me and $130 for the BMs. I'll have champagne and breakfast snacks out and we don't have to worry about driving around the morning of. For BMs that choose to DIY (cause I'm not requiring anyone to have hair/makeup done professionally) the suite has a huge bathroom/getting ready area.

Most salons will accommodate you, but it might be more packed because of NYE. Try Todds Room or Priss Salon in Birmingham.

Try Iconic Salon in Royal Oak. They are right next door with About Face Salon for makeup. I paid about $75 for hair + $90 for makeup for my trial. They don't have a wedding package, but let them know you have a group and they will accommodate you. You probably will have to bring in your own champagne, orange juice and snacks.

It worked out really well, because they work with each other. My hair trial went over and went into my makeup appointment. My stylist, Lauren (who did an awesome job!!) ran next door to let Marla (also awesome!) know that I was running a little late on the hair. Marla walked over to the hair salon, introduced herself and got an idea of what my makeup should look like.
