Good Movies

I want to have a movie marathon this Sunday!

Give me some great movies to see!  Any really good ones in the theater you've seen recently?  Any movies I *must* see that I can rent from Blockbuster/Family Video?

Let's discuss!

we haven't been to the movies in months :(  But, did you see The Blind Side? Excellent x 1000!

And not a 'real' movie, but I watched 'The Client List' w/ Jennifer Love Hewitt, on LMN last week. It was a really good movie! I love LMN.

Yeah I saw the Blind Side, and loooved it.

Thank you for reminding me of the Client List.  I started watching the first like 10 minutes of it, then DH came downstairs and threw a fit saying he wasn't going to watch another stupid LMN movie.  So, I DVRed it, and still haven't watched it!

Um, I am a sucker for ABC Family movies and I still need to watch Revenge of the Bridesmaids that was on about 3 weeks ago.  Go ahead...judge away.

    No judging here :)

I read an article about this really good Indie film that was praised by critics and Sundance back in '97.  But, the director went broke, lost the movie to creditors and it took him until now to buy it back.  Apparently IFC bought the film and it came out on On Demand yesterday.  It has William H. Macy in it and well, I love the nerd-baby that he is.  I think I'll have to watch it.

That kid has seen every single kid's movie in Blockbuster.  I'm not even kidding you.  We were there for over an hour a couple weeks ago, and we couldn't find a single movie she hadn't seen.  She won't be participating in the movie marathon.  She has a play-date :)

It's not really the season for it, but I recently saw Valentine's Day and really liked it!  I was concerned because of all the big names but it turned out well.

My all-time  favorite watch over and over again movies are Zoolander, Mean Girls, and Knocked Up.

I have to say, as much as I might get flamed for this, I can't watch The Hangover enough.  That movie makes me pee my pants.

    IN THA FAAAACE!!!

I haven't seen The Hangover since it was in theaters!  That is a good one.  A little scarring, but hilarious.

If you're with kids: Despicable Me was really cute!

If you want a grown-up movie: Zombieland  was really funny!

Lol...Me and my Maid of Honor (who is also a bride to be) had a girls night the night that was on!

I recommend The Ugly Truth. I liked it  a lot! It was a good balance of chick flick with other humor.

"Julia and Julia" was great (but I'm a foodie, so I'm biased.........and Meryl Streep was robbed!)

"Blind Side" is great, but she didn't deserve the Oscar for it. See above.

The movies I watch over & over on cable: "The Holiday", "Love Actually", "13 Going on 30", my all time favorite "The Godfather".

If you want to go "old school", "Roman Holiday" with Audrey Hepburn, "African Queen" with Katherine Hepburn and Humphrey Bogard, are a couple of my favorites.

    I agree with Inception.

Not to be a stereotypical girl but I saw Twilight Eclipse in the theatre and it was really good. FI actually liked it and my mom as well kept bragging about it. She even gasped out loud in the quiet theater at a certain part haha.

I heard Charlie St Cloud was good but super sad. I wanna see it!

Hot Tub Time Machine was pretty funny. not for kids though. Zombieland was also good.

I cant ever get enough of Tommy Boy, Happy Gilmore or Billy Madison but thats just me :P
