Today was just one of those days.
First of all, my star technician that typically works 12 hours on Mondays had pink eye and had to leave early. My pharmacy, which typically does 400-500 prescriptions on a Monday, was left with 3 technicians all day. So awful.
Then I get yelled at, in the drive thru, by a patient that was convinced we had given her the wrong medication. I tried to tell her the bottle she said we gave her was from last month and there was no way we had given it to her, but she was too busy screaming at me at the top of her lungs to hear me. To top that off, she starts going through her purse and I SEE THE BOTTLE E HAD FILLED THIS MORNING. She thought she was going to pull one over on me and get extra of her controlled medication. She barely even apologized when I told her that the bottle in her purse was indeed the one we had filled today. Ugh.
On top of it all: my grandma's in the hospital again. Last month she had fallen while trying to get up from going to the bathroom and laid on the floor for 16 hours before someone found her. Now she's in the hospital with congestive heart failure and aspiration pneumonia. My mom's not sure if she'll make it because she seems confused all the time and according to my mom, "is acting like a child would in this situation." Looks like I'm headed to Lancaster next Monday since this is my long week at work and I picked up a shift on my off day. Here's hoping that she makes it until then.
