I took "lunch" at 9 AM and went straight to HVCC's bank to cash my checks, they charged me $8 per check for not having an account there, but that's the least of my worries.

Out of the 3 venues I contacted, I only reached 2.  One of them is not available for my date and has no Saturdays available for May.

The other one is available for my date and sounds to be cheaper than HVCC. I have an appointment with them tomorrow night after work. The lady is nice enough to stay late so I can go there straight after work.

I would like to speak to at least 2 more locations before I make my decision and of course it would be ideal if FI and I can taste test their food.

WOW that is awesome Kayla so glad that things are going smooth. Come back with another update on if you like the venue tonight. Agree with PP I would have never thought to go the HVCC bank good thinking in case I ever get a check

OK, SO I wasn't able to get out there tonight like I originally planned.  I wound up staying until 10 PM at work.  I called the venue around 4 PM to let her know that I wouldn't be making it when I got the feeling I would be having a long night at work. 
I unfortunately had to reschedule for Saturday.  Hopefully my date doesn't get taken by then if I do like it and it works out.

My appointment was/is with Roma Banquets in Garden City.

I've called and emailed Italian American Banquet Center in Livonia. They're not returning my emails and they don't answer when I call.....so questioning what's going on there but their website looks very nice.

Joy Manor did not have my date available nor any Saturdays available in May.

I'm too tired to think right now if I've contacted any other venues.

This sucks Kayla, but I'm sure you'll find something that will work out.  And AWESOME that you got your money back from HVCC!  Are you open to changing your date if needed?

It is an option, but not a very big one.  We leave for HI on the 8th and come back the 25th.  So it doesn't give much time.

I just don't want to go through the hassle of contacting all of my vendors to see if they're available.

Kayla I hope you like Roma. I checked them to see if they had my date available and I got a big fat no. The Italian American Center got back to me quickly with a big fat no too. I have widen my search to all parts of Michigan just about. Riverview, Warren, Farmington Hills, Southgate. So far I only have 6 places with our date available and some of those 8 are a little higher than HVCC so we are willing to cut a few people if we like how it looks. Fingers crossed for you with Roma i loved their site!
