Designing invitations...Help

Does anyone have any tips or ideas for designing invitations?? I am not crafty at all and could use all the help I could get. I know some people have said to use microsoft, but I am not exactly sure how to do it on there? Thank you for all of your help

I'm not crafty or artistic AT ALL, so I used vistaprint to design mine and it was really easy.  They have a lot of already pre-made layouts and designs and then you could personalize them by color and font and wording which was much easier than trying to design something myself.

I just went through this, I ended up going on Etsy and having someone  who designs invitations http://www.etsy.com/shop/InvitationsbyEmily and she designed everything (invite, rsvp, accomodations, reception, direction cards) for $35.00.  She also arranged it where I could print it out on 8x11 paper, and included the cut lines.

I felt it was worth all of my fustration, lol !!!!!

I used Publisher which is just a step up from Word.  All it is, is text boxes layered throughout the invite.  Create your document the size you need it to be (ex:  5x7) and just start adding text boxes with your desired text and play around with it until it looks the way you want.

I actually purchased my invitation kits from joann's.  It was really easy to do, and  the layout was on the website of the the brand I purchased.  At because they were at joann's, I was able to buy all of they with a 50% off coupon!
