Wedding Coordinator

We've been thinking about hiring a wedding coordinator, mostly just to handle things the day of.  Has anyone used/Is anyone using a wedding coordinator?  Do you think it was worth it?

I hear great reviews about them.  It really depends on the type of wedding you are having and what exactly you need done.

We decided not to hire one for the following reasons:
-Our venue, florist and baker will set up everything we need set up.
-Our photographer plans on managing time at the ceremony and time between the ceremony and reception.
-Our band will be handling the timeline for the reception.
-We have had lots of family and friends offer to run over to the reception venue after the ceremony to make sure things are set properly.
-My dad has no problem handling any vendor issues that day.

If we were not at a specific venue, or were catering our own reception, I probably would have considered it.

I used one and I'm so happy I did.  I made my own centerpieces so that was the biggest reason to.  But it was so nice to have someone there to coordinate all the vendors and fix any issues as they came up.  It was probably the best money I spent for the entire wedding.

I decided to use one because I didn't want to ask our family to do anything that day.  I wanted to have them there to just enjoy the day.  FI mom has never been to a wedding where she didn't have to help cook or serve the food and my mom catered my brother's wedding.  Our wedding is also at 2pm and the reception at 6pm and we cannot set up the hall until 4pm.  I didn't want to have to worry about things in the middle of our day.   I hired Simplicity DOC.  They have been awesome.  They have helped me solve issues and answered etiquette questions, helped with my timeline, and my to do list.  They are amazing.  I say if it's in your budget....its definitely worth it.

I hired Tammara from Grand Jour events. I got a referral from our moderator Liz. She is fabulous, and although my wedding isn't here yet-She puts every worry on the day of that I have to rest!

Hands down one of the best decisions I made :)  She took care of the entire reception set up so no one in the family had to worry about it.

I cannot recommend Tammara from Grand Jour Events enough!

I hired Tammara as well, and she's been absolutely fabulous so far! Our wedding is tomorrow, but I have no doubts in her handling everything. :)
