Totally bummed...

I don't post much but I felt the need to share this with people don't know me, but might understand:

I bought my wedding dress in January (wedding date is the 28th of this month - 22 days!!), tried it on mid Feb when it came in.  It zipped.  It was tight, but it zipped.

Spent the last month or so working out and eating a little cleaner (not great, I definitely wasn't giving it my all!).

Last night I went to get the bustle pinned... the dress WOULDN'T ZIP UP!

I'm totally bummed that now I'm going to have to have alterations done.  Except for the fact that I'm (sorry TMI) PMSing and a bit swollen in the bust, I don't think I've gained weight.

We're going to give it a few days and try again next week... In the meantime, I'm drinking water like it's my job (well, mostly tea, actually), decreasing my calorie intake (still to a healthy amount and a balanced diet - I'll NEVER go under 1300 and aim for no more than 1500), and increasing my cardio workouts.

Here's hoping all this helps and the next time I try my dress on it fits!  Otherwise, my seamstress is going to have to do a TON of extra work :-(

Thanks for reading my vent!

Re: Totally bummed...

  • Thanks everyone!  I mostly just wanted to vent!  I appreciate you all reading!

It is definitely MY fault - I'm the one who ordered the size.  And definitely not a bras fault (I wasn't wearing one either of the times I tried on the dress).

Yes, it's just the top that wouldn't zip.  Like I said, we're going to try agin in a few days.  I already feel better (tighter and less swollen) so, we'll see!

I'm having the same issue : my dress won't zip up the last inch. I've lost 15 lbs which has come out of everywhere except my bust! I have a little longer though, since my wedding is not til June 2. My first fitting is April 17, and I am eating tons of fruits and veggies, doing cardio and strength training, and drinking lots of water and spinach smoothies. Im hoping mine will zip because I dont want to have to add a corset back... I love the buttons mine has down the back. Good luck, I hope everything works out for you!

  • In case anyone was wondering - went back to try the dress on a week later and it fit!  I think the real issue was that it's really a two person job to get it zipped (the zipper sticks a little at one part because there is SO much fabric & beading at that point).

    I'm IMMENSLEY relived!

Thanks for all the suggestions - luckily I didn't have to do anything extreme!
