Another DIY project finished-cake topper edition

Soooo after 14.5 hours of tinkering on Saturday, I now have a cake topper! My dad did an awesome job of cutting it out, and I took on the task of bedazzling. Thanks to Liz for her blog that led me in the right direction for supplies!

Question for you ladies, though...should I bedazzle the innards for the "O", "V", and center space? The black gems on the side are so bold that is makes the black paint look dull.

Wow, kudos to you and your dad, that's really pretty! I voted to keep it the way it is, but if it's going to bug you every time you look at pictures of your cake, you may as well do it IF you have enough leftover bling. If it requires a special trip then I'd definitely leave it as is. Nice work!

Thanks for all the input, ladies! It was a fun project that I got to share with my dad. And it gave me 14.5 solid hours of not doing grad school stuff which was nice!
