help with my invitations

i also posted this on the invites and paper bored but maybe some of you can help. i made an invitation in publisher and selected the size to be 5x7, well 7x5 and now when i am trying to print it, it is still printing in the middle of the page on my 81/2 x 11 so when i put my invitation paper in its printing on 1/2 of it, can anyone help me? did i save it wrong? Is there a way to save it small into a pdf?

I designed my invites using Publisher as well.  What I did was create a new 8.5"x11" document and place the two invites on the page so each page automatically printed two invites.

You can combine all the elements so that when you copy it, it copies the entire design and then I just pasted it in the new document.  I just made sure to place it on the page so that the margines were large enough.

    i

bought pre cut paper, so i am only doing one per page and i thought by selecting my page size i was in the clear but i guess not :(

*the white one is what id like it to look like and the blue one is all the messed up ones. my page size is 7x5

  • My guess is that it's not Publisher but your pritner settings.  When you go to print, make sure your printer settings show that your printer is ready to use 5 x7  paper. It's probably under an advanced setting...you'll have to click around.  If you get it to print, but it's not printing correctly (like horizontal instead of vertical on the page) then try flipping your paper so that it feeds the long-way and not the short-way.  Hope that helps.

  • i checked my settings on the printer and they said 5x7 :( this is my printer at work over the weekend i tried it at home with a pdf file and it printed in the center of my 5x7 but too small :( my laptop doesnt have office so i cant open the file up at home.

  • when you go to print, select multiple copies per page, select 2 as the qty and it should fit two on one sheet.
  • Hmm it looks like it's beyond my expertise.  Sorry lesley, good luck!
